Vučić spoke with Putin: Cooperation with Russia is very important for Serbia VIDEO
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, spoke with the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. The meeting was followed by numerous TV crews.
Vučić thanked Putin for his hospitality during the reception in Moscow on May 9, and thanked him for his respect and support for the territorial integrity of Serbia, as well as for his friendly attitude towards Serbia.
Vučić pointed out that cooperation at the highest level with Russia in all areas is very important for Serbia.
"I hope that we will not only strengthen but also expand cooperation. For us, energy cooperation is of vital importance," said Vučić, stating that all Russian companies are welcome in Serbia.
The President of Serbia reminded that Serbia is the only country in Europe that has not imposed sanctions on Russia and that it intends to stay on that course.
"Since the beginning of the Ukrainian crisis, Serbia has been in a very difficult situation and under great pressure, regardless of that we have managed to preserve our principled position, we are the only country in Europe that has not imposed any sanctions on the Russian Federation and we will preserve our neutrality in the future", Vučić pointed out.
"Thank you once again for the opportunity to meet here in Beijing," added the President of Serbia.
Putin, who started the conversation first, greeted the President of Serbia and said that he supports the independent foreign policy course that our country is leading under the leadership of Vučić.
"I'm glad that today we can meet and see each other in person," Putin said.
Today, Putin told Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić that Russia treats Serbia's independent orientation with respect.
During the conversation with Vučić in Beijing, where both are attending the commemoration of Victory Day in the Second World War, he announced that another session of the Joint Committee for Trade, Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Russian Federation will be held by the end of the year.
"We are ready to work together. I hope we will be able to discuss economic cooperation in more detail," Putin said.
Let's recall that the President of Serbia arrived in Beijing today, starting a multi-day visit to the People's Republic of China, where he will attend the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory in World War II at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
In addition to the President of Russia, Vučić will also meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping, as well as numerous other officials.
