Vučić visited the places most at risk of fire: We are solving everything from budget reserves PHOTO
President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, visited the most endangered places and families damaged by the fire, who were left without houses and auxiliary facilities in the Toplica district.
"We will quickly use the budget reserves and give people money right away," Vučić said in Novo Momčilovo, where he spoke with residents whose houses were destroyed in the fire.
"When you see the destroyed orchards so neat and tidy, your heart cries," said Vučić. He mentioned that the problem is with abandoned buildings, because there is no one to defend them.
When asked how he comments on the stories that he is also to blame for the fires, he said: "I am not interested in making excuses, especially when I see this human tragedy."
Vučić then met with a householder who lost his house in a fire, who could not stop his tears.
"Please don't cry. It'll be back sooner than you think," he said.
He then mentioned that people in most of the country live well, but that there are areas where it is still difficult to live. He then noted that state investments helped prevent this fire from spreading even further.
"On the roads we built, the embankments helped a lot to keep the fires from spreading from this side. We have had big fires in our country, with bigger tragedies, but the number of fires has never been this high. Dry land, that's why the fires spread so much, we haven't had rain for almost two months," he said.
"The state will help, when we are together we can always do everything. We will also help with instruments and equipment. We will compensate for everything," he said.
"The call center was opened in Prokuplje, now we will open it at the level of the whole of Serbia. We solve everything quickly from budget reserves, to give people money immediately.
Someone has to restore this to the people, and the state will do that. When we are together, when we are united, we can do anything," Vučić wrote on his Instagram account.
Vučić also posted on his Instagram account, emphasizing how grateful he is to the firefighters.
