serb are delusional, the telephone code is a country code and not geographical code. It is signed as a country code. Your discussion should end there.

Like I said before years after years, Kosovo can pretend, wish and try to be a country but will never be one.
(Staff, 18 November 2016 18:11)

Sure, for Serbia and a certain "Staff" Kosovo will never be a country. But Kosovo is a country for other 110+ countries around the world. Unfortunately for this certain "Staff" and Serbia, "Staff" and "Serbia" are powerless to control whether a country recognizes Kosovo as a country or not.
---------

You can not simply take away UNSC 1244.
(Staff, 18 November 2016 18:11)

Exactly... Kosovo declared independence in accordance with UNSCR 1244 (that is now settled thanks to Vuk's herculean efforts). Also, as far as Kosovo is concerned, UNSCR 1244 should be in force forever because it keeps Serbia's army and police outside of Kosovo. Serbia can't simply take away UNSCR 1244.
----------

Sorry but Kosovo is a disputed Serbian province. Like it or not.
(Staff, 18 November 2016 18:11)

Well, if you like it or not that Kosovo is a disputed Serbian province and if you feel sorry about that, that is totally your business... Kosovo couldn't care less what a certain "Staff" likes, does not like or feels sorry about since the feelings of a certain "Staff" have absolutely no impact on the life of the people in Kosovo.

Hahaha ! Kosovo fooled again.
Yes, the link to Koha Ditore says it all !

This code is the property of the Republic of Serbia which it has given by ITU to Serbia for the needs of the geographical region Kosovo as a result of the 2013 Brussels Agreement signed by the governments of Serbia and Kosovo.

"Serbian national provider Telekom Srbija will officially operate in Kosovo as a subsidiary company MTS d.o.o, legally recognised by the international community and the Pristina institutions."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_numbers_in_Kosovo

Just to make matter clear here, this definitely looks like a win for Serbia imo. With that said, it's not a critical matter when it comes to the status of Kosovo and an agreement had to be made for the benefit of regular citizens.

Amer

pre 7 godina

No, Telekom Srbija gets tax exempt status. Did you not read the actual agreement? Did you not read that the phone code is Serbia's because it is Serbia who will apply for this code, not Albania like you wanted? Whatever, blissful ignorance is fine with me just don't start acting like savages again when you read the fine print, please.
(Ari Gold, 15 November 2016 11:57)
_____________

Telekom Srbija as such will not be active in Kosovo - a newly-formed subsidiary will take oveoro its assets there and be subject to Kosovo law and taxes. It's the transfer that's free of taxes (and customs etc), not operating profits.

Also, Serbia did not apply for the code on Kosovo's behalf, Austria did (last January).

"Pristina, 5 January 2016
Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri, said that Austria applied yesterday to the ITU for Kosovo telephone code, in accordance with the Brussels agreement on telecommunications. The official confirmation on the application of Austria for Kosovo telephone code we have received from the European Union and the Austrian Embassy in Kosovo, said the Minister thanking the Austrian state for its very important commitment in order Kosovo to have its international telephone code." http://www.kryeministri-ks.net/?page=2,9,5490

Serbia agreed to the change. Of course, if Kosovo were to break this agreement, it would probably lose the number. That's notreally the same as being able to withdraw their agreement arbitrarily.

Lord of the Dance read this slowly and it might sink in. I said might but I doubt it.
Its exactly as Djuric has said.
The +383 dialing code is owned by Serbia and has been given to Kosovo as a geographical, rather than an international region, "like China has several dialing codes, such as one for the mainland and one for Hong Kong, another for Macau and another for Taiwan, and the UK has one for the mainland and another for the Falkland Islands,".
Perhaps one day you guys might get it LOL.

Well, you'd find few people, if any, in Kosovo, Serbia or elsewhere who can understand your nonsense. It does not matter how slowly you say it or if you use easy to read sentences... nonsense, remains nonsense lol

Comm. Parrisson

Not true. It was given to Kosovo* as a disputed territory, as you can read in another article here on B92: http://www.b92.net/eng/news/politics.php?yyyy=2016&mm=11&dd=15&nav_id=99689

*= without prejudice to its status, and in compliance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 (1999) and the opinion of the International Court of Justice on the declaration of Kosovo's independence

Does Vojvodina has their own dial code?
(Gjon Marku, 15 November 2016 08:47)

No, but +384 remains unallocated. Yugoslavia used to be +38, and when it began to break up, codes for potential separate states based on the old code were made available. Only +384 has not be allocated yet - maybe Serbia should offer it to Vojvodina?

But please, continue to display your ignorance and denial on this site for all to see. It's hilarious!

Well, it seems like a reasonable compromise. Both Serbs and Albanians are defending (their interpretation of) the agreement so glad this part is over. It just goes to show that Kosovo, to move forward, is still heavily dependent on Serbia. I don't think it is high on the EU's agenda now so it really is up to each side to realistically compromise.

Does Vojvodina has their own dial code? Does Telekom Serbia also have limited access thru a different legal entity in Vojvodina?

You see, it doesnt matter what you say or how much you lie here. As soon as ITU has allocated the dial code for Kosovo, its on their homepage. You get to see the owner and you also get to see if its an international country code or just another regional code.

Basically all this talk here is nonsense since we are about to see the truth, once ITU has officially added the new prefix to its list.

Stay tuned and check UIT form time to time instead of listening to your lying officials.

My beloved friends (Kosovar Albanians and Serbs), you are so blind over there that while you see this as a Win-Win from each side indeed is just a los-los for both of you:

1) Serbia keeps signing deals that just approve you have no more rights
on anything about Kosovo Republic (Which ain't a bad thing tbh it was time things like this happened normally)
2) You Albanians Kosovars keep signing deals where Serbia is always the
one profiting economically (Cause you are nubs and dont have the balls to stand Serbs as an equal part in any deal, at least for now)

So both of you just keep calm and enjoy the life in our shitty Balcan home.

So what you talking about then?
One more thing - I will buy a Serbian sim in Kosovo if this is licences and have cheaper options why not. This is called competition and if the Serbian doughter does well with it then we can get the doughter f•••ked no prb.

This is obviously a good agreement: on both sides those in favor have something to brag about, and on both sides, the opposition can find something to complain about.

Kosovo gets its own 3-digit dialing code and a revenue stream in the millions (euros) from taxes and VAT ( not to mention savings to users on the cost of using foreign providers); Serbia gets to keep its real estate and equipment. And those who don't want anything to change have a two-year grace period before they have to do anything. (After that, the foreign codes - Monaco +377, Slovenian +386, and +381 - will no longer be in service.

As for insisting that the +383 code is "merely" geographic, then the +385 of Croatia and +381 of Serbia must be also - right? +38 went out with Yugoslavia.

(Brian Niven, 14 November 2016 13:34)

Is that all you're capable of thinking? Are you really that comical a one-hit wonder? Did you even bother to read the details?

1. Telekom Srbija gets a daughter company in Kosovo, which effectively allows it to maintain operation without any competition or obstruction. In short, Serbia controls the landline service in Kosovo.

2. The dialing code is basically all Kosovo gets, which is maintained and operated by Telekom Srbija's daughter company, ensuring all revenues, taxes, fees, and other services goes to its parent company.

3. The majority of opinion among Kosovo's Albanian groups are opposed to this deal, chastising the government for basically giving them little more than a number that is separate from the rest of the Serbia but no economic assets because Pristina agreed to a compromise that, like most things in Kosovo, gave independence in image but not in substance.

4. Kosovo is given a two-year transition period that, upon approval from Telekom Srbija, transfers the dialing codes to +383, which they now are the carriers.

All the agreements would have been reached so far and there would have been no Albanian flip-flopping, backtracking and breaching the rules of negotiations unless there had been a powerful counselor overseas who tutored Albanians how to flout rules and undermine negotiations with Serbia. Fortunately , with the 2016. presidential election, the powerful counselor, the dynasty Clintons ,George Soros and their cronies have been discarded into a waste dump and cannot influence the Serbian issues any longer.

I doubt this "victory" will see Kosovo gain a UN seat. Sorry to burst your bubble. Again.

Another dumb Serbian euphemism that no one else in the world uses! Geographic code=country code. Daughter company=foreign subsidiary. Boundary=border. Stamps = customs. ID = passport and on and on.

I wouldn't categorize that as too much of a win on your side of things, but if you're happy, I'm happy.
(Ari Gold, 14 November 2016 18:06)

Exactly... This is a win-win agreement since both Kosovo and Serbia are considering it a win. Finally both countries are realising that the relations between Serbia and Kosovo are not a zero sum game.

So both of you just keep calm and enjoy the life in our shitty Balcan home.

so, when one considers subsidiary vs affiliate , an affiliate is a company where the parent company has less than majority stake in ownership, whereas a subsidiary is one where the parent company has majority ownership. Both cases the affiliate and the subsidiary are children companies of the parent.

The problem with the Albanians is that they are misled by their leaders at every turn. This dialing code is being sold to them as a five course dinner with Dom Perignon and 50 year old Hennessy Cognac brandy when in fact its mere scraps off the table and swept on the floor.

All is being done becasue their leaders are so keen to sell to outside investors and pocket the profits. The only profits the local Albos will see is in the newspapers when they read about the sale.

Do I detect a bit of envy on your part.

Serbia hoisted by its own petard once again.

I believe it's Austria that will apply for it, but we'll find out. Serbia says it's OK. Austria applies, and the asterix appears on the documents about the code. Vucic and Thaci make a ton of money from the auction for the licence of the new operator two years from now.

+38 went out with Yugoslavia.

...... Question? - if a Serb from UK ( where I live) needs to call a Serb in Leposavic ( "in ur so called Kosovo I Metohia") can I please get an answer how the Serb from UK should dial the number? +383 ?
So what you talking about then?
One more thing - I will buy a Serbian sim in Kosovo if this is licences and have cheaper options why not. This is called competition and if the Serbian doughter does well with it then we can get the doughter f•••ked no prb.

Hahaha ! Kosovo fooled again.
Yes, the link to Koha Ditore says it all !
Like I said before years after years, Kosovo can pretend, wish and try to be a country but will never be one. You can not simply take away UNSC 1244. You can neglect it - but it is where it is. Sorry but Kosovo is a disputed Serbian province. Like it or not.

Kresha

Kosovo couldn't care less what a certain "Staff" likes, does not like or feels sorry about since the feelings of a certain "Staff" have absolutely no impact on the life of the people in Kosovo.

serb are delusional, the telephone code is a country code and not geographical code. It is signed as a country code. Your discussion should end there.
