I don't remember Croatian troops bombarding the children's hospital in Belgrade, but I do remember Serbs doing that in Zagreb.

I don't remember Albanian KLA kicking half of the inhabitants of Belgrade out of their flats and loading them into trains to deport them out of the country, but I do remember Serbs doing that to Albanians in Prishtina.

I don't remember Bosnian troops bombarding the city of Belgrade on market day "until they go mad", but I do remember Serbs doing that to Sarajevo.


So, no, Zagreb, Prishtina and Sarajevo have no catharsis to go through, because they didn't invade Serbia and commit crimes there; But Belgrade needs a catharsis exactly because of the crimes it committed in Zagreb, Prishtina and Sarajevo and the rest of ex-Yugoslavia.

The big difference is that after the war, everyone was allowed to return except the Serbs. That applies to Croatia and Kosovo, even till this day - nothing serious is being done. The region has been poisoned and I can't see peace for some time. Nobody is happy!

This is actually wrong. From what I know there was quite a bit done in Croatia. However, Serbs were so brainwashed by their own people that they refused to return. So they stay in Serbia and whine about not being allowed to return.
Interestingly, this doesn't prevent them from going to Croatia to vote, to see if their houses have been rebuilt (kind of crazy when you think about it, rebuilding Serb owned houses that Serbians destroyed, all at the expense of Croatian taxpayers), to sell their houses.
The ones that did return have all the rights of other citizens afforded to them and most live quite well.
On the other hand when a Croat tries to return to Republic of Srpska in Bosnia and Herzegovina they face public persecution and a system set to prevent their return.
I agree with you the region has been poisoned and we all know that Serbia is responsible.
Admitting guilt would actually be the best thing for Serbia, but after lying to themselves for so long it's hard to reverse the effects and it doesn't seem likely.

It was different from what Vuk Karadjic wrote for the Serbs. As a result this traitor became very rich while Serbian language became more different from Russian than it used to be during Napoleon Wars. By the way Karadjic is a Turkic name meaning Blackman's son. Before 20-th century Kiev had never played any role in the Russian history. This tale was first published in the Synopsis written by a former Jesuit in 1674.

This is precisely the point. There is not enough blame to go around and when one ethnic group (serbs) strive to equate guilt, it is actually an attempt to criminalize the others.
I see no reason why the other ethnic groups (Croats, Bosnians, Albanians) should have to accept guilt for something they are not responsible for.

Peace is easily achievable if that one problematic group were to undergo a catharsis and face themselves in the mirror. Only then will there be reconciliation and a lasting peace.

This is actually wrong. From what I know there was quite a bit done in Croatia. However, Serbs were so brainwashed by their own people that they refused to return. So they stay in Serbia and whine about not being allowed to return.
Interestingly, this doesn't prevent them from going to Croatia to vote, to see if their houses have been rebuilt (kind of crazy when you think about it, rebuilding Serb owned houses that Serbians destroyed, all at the expense of Croatian taxpayers), to sell their houses.
The ones that did return have all the rights of other citizens afforded to them and most live quite well.
On the other hand when a Croat tries to return to Republic of Srpska in Bosnia and Herzegovina they face public persecution and a system set to prevent their return.

Completely false. In Mostar for example, used to be 15-20% Serb, less than 1% now, in Slavonija, 15-20% , less than 3%. Get the picture?

Croatia is non-existent in terms of history, size, population and land mass compared to Serbia and a spec of dust in European politics. This is precisely the point. There is not enough blame to go around and when one ethnic group (serbs) strive to equate guilt, it is actually an attempt to criminalize the others.
I see no reason why the other ethnic groups (Croats, Bosnians, Albanians) should have to accept guilt for something they are not responsible for.

Peace is easily achievable if that one problematic group were to undergo a catharsis and face themselves in the mirror. Only then will there be reconciliation and a lasting peace.
