Unfortunately there is a (not-so-little) concern regarding Thaçi intentions and the gay parade in Pristina itself being genuine.

It is well-known that Albanians are very utilitarian about almost everything, religion and LGBT included - if it comes to their nationalism and support of it.

Of course, Thaçi as a good general of a terrorist / mafia force knows how to gain support. Well, if marching in front of LGBT community makes his case in America stronger - than he will do that.

I am pretty sure that if his position would be strengthen if he would make a pilgrimage to Lenin Mausoleum and kiss the butt of Lenin's body - than he would do that, too.

Including spending a week or two in a Russian monastery (if that would be necessary).

Today, inshallah, USA is behind of Thaçi's mafia. So he does what his master wants.

And they want it because... because there is some stupidity in their politics. The origin of gay parades, how they transformed itself, what phenomenon it is, and why Wall Street and Dohány Utca are behind of it now is a long topic, full of political incorrectness.

To say it in few words: now, in 2016 Thaçi did it well for his support and actually by mistake, found himself dragged in a cause which is rather good locally.

That the same time Dohány Street, American Establishment, Wall Street, Madeleine NotVeryBright, Soros Gyuri Bácsi, Hilbilly Clinton and her criminal hubby are satisfied... well, they are.

Hm.... Being "gay" has pretty much nothing to do with the religion.
Look at that. If God exists and he is against that, than gays wouldn't exist. It's not a one-time slip (you may argue, why did God not prevent Caligula, Nero, Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot to exist? OK, he, too, may have mistakes and these "gentlemen" could be just an oversight). However, gays exist since ever and even among other (certain) mammals.

Thus, it's not a simple "oversight" (if you believe in God). If you do not, that all this has no point.

And thus, one way or the other - that thing as unusual, disgusting or whatever it may appear to us, is out there - and we are nobody's to judge it.

As Pope Francis correctly said recently: "who am I to judge it?"

Indeed.

But besides of that, of course, I think, one or two jokes against gays are fine. And I am always thinking: why not have the "opposite" parade, with strictly straight only?

The life would be normal the moment "we" are OK to make jokes about "them" and v.v.
This should be pretty much like the "Partizan" versus "Crevena Zvezda" discussion.

And please, no parades on each side, unless it's really necessary and no politics should be involved.

Unfortunately these parades are starting to become a political manifest, thanks, this is absolutely not what gays or straights do need (Soros + NotSoBright + Thaçi versus Lukashenka + Irinej + Putin)

I REALLY hate Thaçi - but have to admit, he has balls.

In general, I do not support such parades for a very different reason (in America it's about business and I hate that). However, Pristina is a different thing.

Yes, probably bravo, indeed.

The saddest thing is that Village-Bey was mostly right regarding Roberto.
"Mostly" because he gave Roberto 100%.
I am far from doing that, IMO 90% is about right.

The remaining 10%, however are those 10% where he proves being an American imbecile and spoiling the 90% where he is right.

For instance, the word "chetnik" does not need to be here. That single word negated everything in his writing... Thanks, Robot Berta, for nothing - even if you are 90% right.

Why everything must be compared and measured? This is a small step for this community in Kosovo it will take time to match anything with Australia.

For once I agree with you, anti-gay sentiment is strong in the Balkans. However, the very fact that Thaci, un-charming as he is, still took the decision to show support to the gay community by marching with them, is one step more than any of Serbia's main leaders have ever taken

If there were no advertisements or mention of this “walk” in Pristina weeks leading up to the event then it’s a political stunt or a joke more precisely. If you want to see what one of those parades look like come to Sydney, Australian next March. It’s the biggest in the world and it lasts several hours.
However, to blame Serb politicians for not doing the same is a little strong considering that the so called gay parade lasted 10 minutes and locals would not have had the time to process the event before it was over.
How about next year Thaci advertises weeks ahead and then we can see if the event goes without incident.
Unfortunately, anti-gay sentiment is very strong in the Balkans.

But it has happened, and Kosovo's leadership, however imperfect, has given their support, voted with their feet. Much more than we have witnessed throughout parts of the former Yugoslavia. Bravo!

I am really proud of Kosovo moving forward - although I DO NOT belong to this community - I have nothing against people living the way they wanted.

I just can't imagine these who calls 'Kosovo an ISIS' state how will they feel when they see this community enjoying their constitutional rights. and living their freedom

Bravo. A good symbolic gesture. Serbs should be ashamed that of all people Thaci takes part in the first parade, while several Serbian presidents and prime minister didn't manage to do that for several years, and, as we can read, right now the Dveri extremists already agitate against the parade in Belgrade.
