When 1 Lidl opens 10 small shops close in the same area. So it's not a big gain in employment. In a underdeveloped country like Serbia, Lidl will import virtually everything, mostly from highly efficient Western-European factories but also from Romania, Hungary where they have suppliers already. So in the first 5 years do not expect a lot of Serbian goods in their shops in Serbia, nor any exports.

The store will have to compete with the Open Market (Pijac),the farm's products during the morning's.It will mainly compete with the big stores like Roda ,Discount, Maxi ,and Idea(Croatian owned).More suppliers(supermarkets) ,the lower the prices.Serb's outside Belgrade, will have time, and will always shop at the open markets (Pijac). They will bring other products which I cannot find in Serbia.
