If a country had the right to shoot down any plane which violated its airspace for a few seconds, then Greece would have had the right to shoot down hundreds of Turkish pilots.
(ida, 2 January 2016 04:41)

Well, make sure to tell that to Greece :)

While it's always an honor to get recognized by the CE of B92 forums, I have to be fair. As I quoted above, the analysis came from our dear friend ida, whom, I hope, will appreciate such a high honor conferred upon him/her by the CE of B92 forums sj!

If you feel being called silly an honour then you are a “brilliant analyst” par excellance. As has been said before many times the most difficult task is proving to a stupid person he is stupid and boy do you fit the definition.

I'm convinced that our dear friend ida should absolutely accept the assessment of his/her analysis by the CE of B92 forums sj since that is the duty of all the members of these forums :)

Let us all welcome the CE (junior) of the B92 forums. This is really exciting and great news. Finally the CE of B92 forums sj has some help in convincing the Americans that they live in hell (compared to, say, Russia and China) and what they see and feel is all an illusion. It was getting hard because the Americans are so brainwashed, but now the CE of B92 forums sj has a helping hand, finally!

These “sanctions” on Russia are like slapping someone with a feather – non effective, but our opposition all claim to see Moscow falling apart and poverty everywhere. My son has been to Moscow and St Petersburg as well in New York, Detroit, Chicago, through the states of Iowah, Missouri, Oklahoma and he saw poverty on a scale he could not have imagined.
Privately people are willing to say that the state of the US economy is poor regardless what is said in the media because it has not recovered since 2008.
Yellen had to raise the interest rate. If she did not then it would come out in the open that there something was wrong with the economy. In the long run, the US has to raise the interest rate because all that printed money is coming back to the US from overseas not because of strong economic data.

Turkey has regularly violated and tested Greek airspace for years, yet I don't think the Greeks ever shot down a Turkish pilot: they simply chase them off with their fighter jets.

sj,

Previous experience with empires collapsing have seen loss of confidence in the currency as one of the first warnings and always an alternative is found, however costly as a cost, however high, is always better than keep buying worthless currency as is the case with the US dollar, unless one is really naive enough to think that US bonds are "risk-free" and that printing five times the cash in circulation has no effect. Investors can convert dollars into commodities, gold, buy assets in the US or using US dollars, move over to the Yuan, or EM currencies such as the Mexican Peso the only EM currency to trade 24/7 or synthetic instruments. If one looks at both China's reserves, they topped at 4 trn dollars and now are aggresively looking at options and of course, soon to be an SDR currency, they will no longer need dollars, even before the AIIB begins to operate in earnest. The US wants to convince everyone they need to buy their monopoly money but really its just a myth... now, we all know there is one born every minute... but you can't fool all of the people all of the time.

Your logic is so humorous, one the one hand the US can borrow and borrow without affect because the force is with Washington, but Russia is evil and collapsing. If Putin is a dictator then what is the US system which has had only 2 parties in power for 230 years??????

If Russia cant harm Turkey then why was the Turkish PM asking for help from Serbia???

Russia is in no position to make anyone's life more difficult, other than her own citizens. Russian economy is a disaster due to Putin sticking his nose where he cannot afford to do so. Russians are suffering a great deal because of the government failures of Russia, how much longer can Russian empty pockets and stomachs keep on going just to cheer on a dictator for the sake of nationalism?

War is not just a free-for-all. There are laws that were agreed long ago. Unfortunately a lot of people bend or break them. Sadly, a lot of the problem for Serbia during the 90s was that thugs didn't fight under the rules, and so the world took a great dislike to the Milosevic government. This tainted the good name of Serbia.

While I have a lot of sympathy for the way Turkmen feel about being bombed by the Russians, under the rules it was wrong to shoot a pilot while he did not pose a risk. He should have been arrested and taken as a prisoner of war using the rules of the Geneva conventions.

I therefore agree that the person doing the shooting should be arrested and put on trial. I am sure that under reasonable mitigation the sentence could be kept to something short.

All Russia is doing is making life more difficult for Ankara. Moscow is imposing another condition before normalization of relations. Russia wants to inflict more and more pain which will lead to removing the two main protagonists, ie. President and PM.
