All Montenegrins are Serbs. There is no such thing as "Montenegro", as it is a Venetian translation of the Turkish epithet given the region (i.e. "Black Mountain") due to its fierce inhabitants and the inability to easily control them due to the geography. Njegos considered himself, and all of his compatriots, Serbs.

Since you're from the Serbian minority in Montenegro, why do you write with a Jewish-sounding nickname like "Ari Gold"? Too ashamed of your Serbian ancestry?
Serbs are a minority in Montenegro and you do not speak for Montenegro, "Ari Gold" or whatever your name is. Most Montenegrins would be ashamed to associate themselves with Serbs.

I am not blaming the Albanians that voted. Very likely, they were very poor people who took money to pretend to be from Ulcinj or Tuzi and voted yes.
(Ari Gold, 31 December 2015 00:17)

The above is really telling what facts mean for you. So you have no facts to support your statement that those people took money, but just because they did not vote as you wanted, than it must be likely that they took money :) Nice fact-fabrication logic mate!!!

55% is not a vast majority.
(Ari Gold, 31 December 2015 19:24)

Well, it's more than the 45% - at least that's how it is in the math taught in most of the world; but I can't speak for Serbia.

So, I'm not sure what point you are trying to make, mate! That Montenegro should have done what the 45% said?!!!

Ari Gold

pre 8 godina

Ari, 55% of the Montegerins voted for the independence, Milo couldn't possibly bring 230 people by bus from Kosovo. Why don't you accept the fact that the vast, overwhelming majority of those who voted for independence were Montenegrins.
(the liers den, 31 December 2015 15:37)

55% is not a vast majority. I'll tell you what that is: Milo and his inner circle that depend on his cash and public sector jobs, Montenegrins who were brainwashed by the communist regime, ethnic minorities, and a few buses of Albanians from Kosovo-Metohija.

That makes up the 55% of that voted in favor of giving Milo Djukanovic his own country so he could have diplomatic immunity from his crimes in Italy. And great job to everyone that voted yes. Montenegro is in the most desperate situation it has ever been and there is no light at the end of the tunnel so long as this current regime is in power.

What's sad is Djukanovic regime has strong allies in Serbia! The same dictator that persecutes Serbs and the Serbian Orthodox Church has friends in Belgrade! Sickening.

the liers den

Montenegro is a country of just over 600,000 people. Djukanovic the tyrant organized the referendum and decided not only that Montenegrins living in Serbia could not vote, but that he would get help from Albanians in Kosovo-Metohija which did not need a lot in a small country with such a small margin (55-45% was the final vote)

I am not blaming the Albanians that voted. Very likely, they were very poor people who took money to pretend to be from Ulcinj or Tuzi and voted yes. I am blaming the corrupt Djukanovic regime that has pillaged Montenegro for over 20 years!
(Ari Gold, 31 December 2015 00:17)

Why don't you accept the fact that the vast, overwhelming majority of those who voted for independence were Montenegrins. Montenegrins that were living and registered to vote in Serbia could not take part because it would give them two votes in the union and was against the constitution of SMN. Of course Albanians and Bosnians of Montenegro voted in droves, but it was their right to do so.

Djukanovic is a whore and will do anything for money. If it lines his pockets and help keep his grip on power, he would sell his mother.
(njegos, 31 December 2015 13:37)

You missed the part that Serbia doesn't have money to buy it itself, that's why it wants to "partner" with the Chinese. It's like a poor college boy that peddles his friends if they can buy a jacket together.
Djukanovic may be a whore, but no whore wants to be screwed twice for the price of one. He might as well sell it to the Chinese, why make himself vulnerable to the Serbs that as we speak are organizing protests to topple him. That's why it doesn't make sense.
Besides, even for Serbia doesn't make sense economically. Your markets should be up north, Germany and Central Europe where the money is, not south.
You have to pay portual fees whether they are in Croatia, Montenegro, Albania or Thessaloniki, what the hell does it matter whether you're running a port or not. Is not like Serbia is in the business or running ports, this would be a one-off operation, which in the end goes counter to business logic.

Here's how it works Avni: Djukanovic is a whore and will do anything for money. If it lines his pockets and help keep his grip on power, he would sell his mother. He has already sold the majority of Montenegro's coastline to foreign investors. Now do you understand?

90% of your post was wasted exaggerating what a ridiculous post it was you were commenting on, which is a good signal you're trying to come up with something even more ridiculous. Truth is, it wasn't Albanians from Kosovo because Montenegro has enough Albanians and Bosniaks of its own to throw the vote slightly over the threshold. So instead of it being the fault of Kosovo's Albanian population, it's Montenegro's.

I doubt the US would try to axe the deal with their proxy Djukanovic unless NATO might have some use for the port. NATO is more concerned about Prevlaka which is essentially under control rendering Montenegro de facto dependant on the alliance.

The port of Bar only has significance for Serbia. If Serbia doesn't use it, then it will rot. Montenegro produces very little and doesn't need a port of this size. The port is connected by road a rail to Serbia and no where else. The Croats don't need it, Albania doesn't need it and Bosnia doesn't need it. Without Serbia it may as well be deconstructed and turned into a tourist resort. if Serbia owns it, then it will have an interest in developing road and rail connections through Montenegro. Improved road and rail connections will give Serbia fast access to the sea and give Montenegro access to Serbia and the EU. I expect the Americans to veto this win-win deal.

When will Serbs like yourself stop blaming Albanians for the crisis serbia vs. Montenegro? Fact of the matter is montenegro wanted to make a distinction from Serbia by declaring independence. Who wants the baggage that comes with Serbian genocide committed three times in a decade? Croatia, Bosnia, and Kosova all have been vicrims of genocide at the hands of Serbia. That is the primary reason montenegro left serbia, and stop blaming everyone for the failures of Serbian government. If you love serbia so much then go back to Serbia, stop being so patriotic over a keyboard about a place you probably hardly ever visit.

Both of my parents are from Montenegro and I was born there. Things are much, much worse since 2006 for anyone who is not in Djukanovic's inner circle. Serbia has despite this been very good to Montenegro. Serbia allows the use of its embassies around the world to be shared with Montenegro and the biggest export market for Montenegro is Serbia. The biggest importer into Montenegro is also Serbia.

We are inseparable and one day when Djukanovic is thrown out, Montenegro will find itself again. Montenegro will always be Serbian.

Ari, 55% of the Montegerins voted for the independence, Milo couldn't possibly bring 230 people by bus from Kosovo. Why don't you accept the fact that the vast, overwhelming majority of those who voted for independence were Montenegrins. Montenegrins that were living and registered to vote in Serbia could not take part because it would give them two votes in the union and was against the constitution of SMN. Of course Albanians and Bosnians of Montenegro voted in droves, but it was their right to do so.

@Thomas

I doubt the US would try to axe the deal with their proxy Djukanovic unless NATO might have some use for the port. NATO is more concerned about Prevlaka which is essentially under control rendering Montenegro de facto dependant on the alliance.

From Avni: "Serbia wants to buy Montenegro's Port of Bar but doesn't intend to support Montenegrin candidate at UN. Would like to know how does this works?"

Here's how it works Avni: Djukanovic is a whore and will do anything for money. If it lines his pockets and help keep his grip on power, he would sell his mother. He has already sold the majority of Montenegro's coastline to foreign investors. Now do you understand?

Is not like Serbia is in the business or running ports, this would be a one-off operation, which in the end goes counter to business logic.

the actual truth

t doesn't usually take long in a Serbian site for someone to come in and let out, casually, a fat lie. But so fat and so outrageous that the collective eyes must be rolling: whoop there it is!
(the liers den, 30 December 2015 20:16)

90% of your post was wasted exaggerating what a ridiculous post it was you were commenting on, which is a good signal you're trying to come up with something even more ridiculous. Truth is, it wasn't Albanians from Kosovo because Montenegro has enough Albanians and Bosniaks of its own to throw the vote slightly over the threshold. So instead of it being the fault of Kosovo's Albanian population, it's Montenegro's.

The above is really telling what facts mean for you. So you have no facts to support your statement that those people took money, but just because they did not vote as you wanted, than it must be likely that they took money :) Nice fact-fabrication logic mate!!!

On the one hand, the state of Serbia will privatize some dozens of public companies, on the other hand buying a new one? Aren't the times of uncompetitive state owned companies over these days?
(Questioner, 30 December 2015 15:12)

Buy and then privatize. You know someone close to Vucic will be making money out of this deal.
