Serbia has 2-3 fighter planes in serviceable condition and no operational military helicopters.

Croatia has 2 squadrons of refurbished Mig's. 18 new American attack helicopters on the way, not to mention it's current russian helicopters.

The Croatian military is in every way, shape and form are light years ahead of Serbia.

And you can bet the Croatian soldiers don't have to share a sandwich.

Who's threatened? The only ones behaving as if they are under threat is Vucic, "Serbia must have answer to ballistic missiles in region" and "Either they will give up on it, or we will have to find an answer to that, too,".

Why? they are already completely out-gunned by Croatia anyway, so why the paranoia about one missile system that (like the 16 helicopters) is being donated? Croatians already have mobile long range guided missile systems that could hit Serbia, so the reaction over this makes no sense.

It doesn't even come with missiles, Croatia has to buy them seperatley. You would think Vucic would be more concerned with the fact that Croatia will soon have 20 Mi-17 and 16 OH-58D attack helicopters, while Serbia has not a single one.

This is the same Croatian Military, that 20 although very poorly equipped and heavily outnumbered, handed the Serbian army it's own ass.

Croatia's MIG's have all been delivered and are all fully operational, since they are a member of NATO they have no choice.

Serbia couldn't get their MIG's flying because they didn't have batteries?! Any decent electrician let alone electrical engineer would be able to solve that problem in minutes. But Vucic had to go and beg Putin for batteries? (all these stories are in B92 archives).

The Croatian Navy could sit 10Km off the coast of Dubrovnik and hit Kraljevo, or park the mobile ones in Osijek and hit Belgrade.

They wouldn't worry about the granny with the penkinfe, they have composite body-armour.

Maybe the Serb army should be quivering in their '50's era boot's. ;)

Serbia tried to create greater Serbia before, now it's other countries turn.

If they spent 5billion in education, healthcare would be better serving for its people no? Serbia says its neutral and it can never ever ever attack any of it's NATO neighbours still can Macedonia, Kosovo or Bosnia but highly unlikely. Serbia can not afford an activation of Article 5 from any of its NATO neighbours; nothing to be ashamed of it many larger and wealthier nations would not.

So why bother buying weapons when you can not ever use them, just to give you a warm feeling.

Invest in technology development with such great universities it would help economy, many Serbs would benefit and would not have to move to Germany .. EU after finishing university. Use your Human and monetary capital better as war has been proven not to be a profitable path for you.

I hate to break the news to you but its Croatia that has only 2 to 3 aircraft in service because the rest have not been refurbished. The work was to be done in Ukraine but the war broke out and the few aircraft that were there were returned, but they tell everyone all have been refurbished LOL. Croatia closes its military bases from December to end of January and that tells you the financial shape its in.
On the issue of professional soldiers in the Croatian army, of the 250 first generation voluntary conscripts, 208 of them, 25 being young women, signed the contract for permanent employment.

To acquire ballistic missiles requires money lad and when you close military bases over December and January that gives you a good indication that Croatia does not have any. If you think the US will just hand it over then again.
Here is some advice to you. Vucic did not order all that weaponry if the money was not there. It’s a purchase that will stretch over a decade or so.

I have been living and travelling thru the Balkans in the last 3 years, and found how quick Serbia- Belgrade is moving forward with business, infrastructure, economically, etc,etc.
I was shock at Belgrade progressing with infrastructure.
From 2002 ,it was moving at snail pace.Since 2013,Vucic has come to power, foreign companies ( Japanese, South Korea, USA,Russia,Italy,Austrian, German, Turkish,Chinese and French etc,etc) have expanded their factories. While UAE,Belarus, Kazakhstan, Norway, Swedish, Croatian,Greek,Holland,and Danish etc,etc are investinh.
I seen that for myself coming back from Australia, living in Serbia.
Finally the Communist are not running Serbia and world countries have faith to invest!
Vucic didn't get a good price for Telecom Serbia and didn't sell it.Don't forget Vucic is only selling company's that don't make a profit and can not stand on its own.
