Russian resolution condemns all crimes, supports Dayton

Edwin's comment about Serbs not having to massacre civilians - regardless of whether they had the green light from NATO and/or the UN to enter Srebrenica - is worth noting. For years, we've seen conspiracy theories about how the West tacitly agreed to let the Serbs re-take Srebrenica for the sake of a final territorial settlement. Even if true, would anyone from Britain, France, Holland or the US agreed to turn a blind eye to mass slaughter of unarmed civilians? This defies common sense.

Of course, the other conspiracy theory we always hear is that the victims were mainly ABiH soldiers. OK, if true, who are the 6,000+ that have been gradually identified and laid to rest over the past 20 years? And why don't we ever hear about Serb casualties in the alleged battles fought with these ABiH soldiers? Ever hear of infantry battles in which only one side takes losses?

I think the Russians should be busy writing a resolution about how they should apologize for their invasion of Ukraine. They've already proudly admitted to their role in Crimea, and no one doubts that they are driving the conflict currently raging in the east. Their credibility with the rest of the world is so low that one has to wonder why they would even bother wasting the ink on a document such as this.

You people are forgetting that Srebrenica is not the only genocide that happened in Bosnia. The genocide and war crime occurred in Prijedor, Sanski Most, Bijeljina, Sarajevo, Zvornik, BanjaLuka, Kljuc, etc. So for you who deny that genocide ever happened in Stebrenica, cannot deny the scale of atrocities elsewhere in Bosnia.

Documentary broadcast last night on Dutch television revealed that the US, Britain and France had a secret agreement to withhold air support to Dutchbat that was stationed at Srebrenica. That air support could have prevented the enclave from falling. Air support was used in Grozde so why not in Srebenica and why was this kept secret? Dutchbat and the people of Srebrenica were abandoned. Why?

We know who killed these people there. Question is, could it have been prevented? Why was it not prevented? Even the Dutch minister at that time now says that close air support could have prevented the enclave from falling. 9 times they asked for air support so the Dutch commanders and government were willing to take risks but the international partners apparently not. Why was air support denied? According to files in the Clinton library there was agreement between the US, the UK and FR to deny air support. So an ally -NL- was left hung out to dry while they tried to stop Mladic and his men. They were betrayed by their own partners.

This isnt new news. This is old news in fact. I hear this first from my father but USA and Britain had nothing to do with it. It was a french commander who controlled the airforce who said they should not venture out but to stay put. The french have always supported serbs in some way. The same group made deals with the serbs during the war aswell.

officials from those countries routinely turn a blind eye to the mass slaughter of unarmed civilians. these countries are also responsible for the mass extinction of a significant number of unarmed civilians all over the world. so, yes they will turn a blind eye if it fits their political pictures.
it is estimated that in the United war (that is United States and United Kingdom) against iraq has left in its wake 500,000 dead, or seriously injured unarmed civilians. this is on their heads, like it or not. They kept expanding in a greater radius until the Serb forces got organized and started beating Naser Oric's forces back.
The Muslim Srebrenica dead are virtually all soldiers who died throughout the war - and including many who were never in Srebrenica.
They are collecting dead Muslim soldiers from all of eastern Bosnia and claiming they were killed during the fall when many were not.

There was also some running battles during the escape from Srebrenica - the Bosnian Muslim army was ordered to walk out the day/night before the fall and they had to go through many miles of Serb-held territory.

The Serbs became alarmed at these large columns of Muslim soldiers and men moving through their territory and there were fights.

Because 3500 Bosniak soldiers were retreating through the forest to escape to Tuzla. The Serbs ambushed them and trapped them in the forest. That's why you don't hear of Serb casualties. There were none. It was very one-sided.

You are not quite accurate, Jews, Christians and Muslims believe in the same God but only those who believe Jesus is the Son of God are Christians and they are considered 3 distinct religions. So while there may be no contradiction, a point of clarification is totally appropriate.
