Hey Bekim, Brotherhood & Unity never exited. Your hero Tito, ruled with an iron fist and allowed no opposition. If you didn't belong to the communist party you lived like a second class citizen.

Tito and his thugs were brutal killers. Their tactic was to go into a village and round up the leaders of the community that didn't support the Partizans. Then they would fabricate crimes against the regime and execute them. That is what your grandfather fought for.

As a proud descendant of a Chetnik family, the sooner you join your grandfather (now spining in his grave) the better. This was a big step for Serbia. They still have a long way to go, however. It will be tough with all of the re-cycled communists in leadership positions. This, however, was a huge victory for those who have fought for and seek the truth.

How it could be explained the fact that general Mihailovic during all WW II resided in forests, caves and dugouts. Hitler\'s allies enjojed living in Paris, Roma, Sophia, Zagreb, Tirana, Belgrade...This is enough to confirm Mr Mihailovic\'s antyfascism and
the righteous court decision to be rehabilitated.

Amen. My family have strong Partizan connections and my grandfather was a partizan who believed in YU up to the very end. The Chetniks were opportunists who never really had the heart or drive to fight the Nazis and undermined Tito and the Partizans whenever they could. Operation Halyard was a cynical attempt to curry Allied favor when the Allies had copped on that Draza and the Chetniks were only in it for themselves and not helping in the war effort. Its a sad day for Serbia. My grandfather is spinning in his grave.

Smrt fasizmu, sloboda narodu!

"Certain Serbian citizens continue to bring us down as a nation by introducing fascists elements. Like Seselj, Draza was no angel and no anti fascist. Many innocent people died because of Chetnik policies. The Chetniks also drew on SS forces to attack Partizan positions. I am ashamed to be Serbian and I'm ashamed that after all that's happend in the Balkans in the last 20 years including the genocide in Srebrenica we continue to hate anything that's not Serbian. This is why we are a laughing stock on the world stage. Long live Brotherhood & Unity !

Keep up the good fight. Nationalists and chetniks give Serbia a bad name, but the world knows there are many good and decent Serbs who just want to be like any other European and don't have such hatred in their hearts.

You don't know what you're talking about. Draza has statues of him in the U.S. and was decorated for his sacrifice to the Allied Powers. Everyone outside the Balkans knows Mihailovic's only fault was that he also happened to be anti-communist who were his prosecutor, judge & executors.

This man was one of 500 who wanted to testify. Tito say they couldn't. To an old old pal of mine Mr. Curtis Diles who was saved by Draza Mihailovic from the Nazis, rest easy my friend. How can a man, whose recognized by the world as saving hundreds of American paratroopers, noted as the main reason German forces were stalled prior to going to Russia (both of these facts are not mentioned anywhere in the articles I've read regarding this ruling, outside of Serbian news), on the cover of Time Magazine as the only resistance to the Nazi's in the region at the time be a fascist???

Because angry Croats and Albanians know they have only collaborators on their side that they can't ever rehabilitate no matter how much they want to.

Kudos to the High Court for doing the right thing! Mihailovic did not receive a fair trial, was tortured for days before the proceedings, was given no chance to appeal and was executed almost immediately. Now the next wrong to correct is to locate his grave and give him an honorable and proper burial.

It was high time to do the job ! But better late than never and so I am very happy about the news. Those were the Cetnics who granted us another month for the preparations. Otherwise Hitler would approach Moscow in September when General Frost could not join us yet. Besides Mikhailovic had second big ( after Tito) partisan army on the continent. WW2 revealed many problems in the occupied states and all of them were involved to civil wars. German tribute to those wars was really great. But what happened after WW2 with the Cetnics cannot be justified. Of course it was very bad that two antifascist forces were in permanent conflict but today there must be national reconciliation. It should not be like in Poland where veterans of good guys of Armia Ljudova never celebrate V-DAY with veterans of Armia Kraiowa.

Long overdue. Today is a good day for anyone who values justice and historical truth. Draza Mihailovic assembled the first guerrilla resistance group in the region. The Chetniks were the only force in Eastern Europe that was both anti-communist and anti-fascist. And Serbia, for better or for worse, had not one but two anti-fascist movements.

It's a shame this has taken so long. But now hopefully Serbia can begin to right this historical wrong and give General Mihailovic the respect that he deserves.
