LMAO how ironic. The EU operates on the idea of "free movement of people" which has resulted in huge social tensions in northern European countries due to mass immigration. They are more than happy to destroy their own nation-states for this sick European dream by opening up their borders for millions of people to just walk right in, but a "brick facility" must be built to keep Serbia out of Kosovo-Metohija.

This vile German-led Europe which props up unelected central planners out of Brussels must go! And no wonder the Balkans today are almost identical to WWII. Germany using its puppets, loyal SS units to dismember Serbia as apart of its overall plan to dominate Europe. Deja-vu

Even attempting to join the EU is simply irrational. First off, the EU is itself heading towards more unstable times. Just in Germany yesterday, 20, 000 people demonstrated against the increasing Islamicization of society brought on by mass immigration. Likewise, Greece and Italy have as of late seen an eruption in protests due to austerity measures.

Meanwhile the fastest growing political parties in the UK, France and Austria are those which wish for their countries to withdraw from the EU and see its abolishment from Europe altogether. If the current trends continue, Marine Le Pen will be Frances next President in 2017 and UKIP will hold the balance of power in 2015 and condition their support on a referendum to leave the EU for next summer.

At this point, the foolishness of Serbia's elite is one of historical and epic proportions if they continue steering the country towards the "EU has no alternative" path to nowhere.

Best news so far. Hope Serbia never comes close to fulfilling those requirements, but here is the catch. If Serbia were to announce that they no longer wish to join the EU, Berlin and Brussels would crap themselves, literally. Then watch the fun of envoys coming and going to Belgrade. it would be a circus not seen for a long time.

Its true that the EU wants Kosovo recognised, but this is also about Serbia's stance with Russia. The Führe requires a compliant vassel not one that makes it mind up contrary to the great leaders thinking.

Generally I have been for the EU, but this is becoming ridiculous. Germany clearly doesn't want us in. They resent we don't bend over for them like the Croats or Albanians. Not much has changed in their attitude. They want a slave, not a proud independent country to contribute. I believe it will be Germanys loss in the long run.
And Ari is right. The EU by and large will be very different in 2020, if it exists at all. The people want a free trade zone and a joint military, not a political union. It was always a fantasy dreamt of by the left wing political elites.

What I find most hilarious is that the EU is doing more to roadblock Serbia's path to joining the EU than the Serbian government and the Serbian people themselves.

The inept political leaders n Serbia are in way over their heads. Dacic and Vucic publicly state that Serbia will never recognize Kosovo, yet they succumb to every German demand thus far. These two recycled socialists are tying to play the same game Tito did with Yugoslavia: one foot in the camp of the western powers and the other in Russia's. And look at what happened to Yugoslavia. A some point soon they will be forced to make a decision, and I don't have much confidence that it will be the right one.

There are in Reality only 2 Conditions that need to be Realized, and these may be impossible or possible, and only time will tell us the answer to that.

One Condition is that Nazi Germany Renounces Nazism, and the other Condition is that Serbian Politicians have some Integrity to Lobby All European Union Nations for Nazi Germany to Renounce Nazism and join the Human Race.

If Nazi Germany cannot or does not want to Renounce Nazism in order to join the Human Race, then Serbia should Secretly not want to join the European Union, but make Great Pretense as to wanting to join the Nazi European Union, and if Serbia really wants to join the European Union, then they just need to be Patient, because History Proves that Nazism is always Conquered in Europe.

For all his faults, (and certainly EU is far from being perfect) it is the best alternative for our nation. Yes, EU has a democracy deficit right now but that is nothing compared with the Russia that is run by gangsters and thugs.
Our future is in Europe, not Russia. Kosovo is lost and we have no one to blame but ourselves for it. And it is better this way. The reality is that Kosovo is more than 90% albanian, and I would like to know how can we live together with them given the recent history and the mutual hatred between us. Are we going to ethnically cleanse them again?
With our declining birth rate and Kosovo part of Serbia, I wont be surprised that there will be an Albanian majority in the whole Serbia in the near future. So better extract some good concessions from EU right now as the TIME is right, recognize Kosovo and move on, it is the best our government can do for Serbia.

Nobody has until this very day shown what other buyers were even offering to purchase NIS. Today NIS is a regional hub for natural gas and has retail outlets in Romania and other parts of the region. I am not a huge Russophile, but I like facts. Facts are there were no other offers for NIS and at the time it was a good offer because it came with the South Stream which the EU obstructed.

Far as facts go, Serbs are the only nation in the region that has consistently stood up to empires. Albanians have consistently sought to become vassals for those very same empires in exchange for bits of Serbia. I know it, you know it. That's why you hate us, but deep down love us so much.

Ottoman Empire, Austro-Hungary, Nazi Germany, NATO.. all treated Serbia as their primary target in the region. It's a bit#h to be the target of these empires all the time. But in a way, it's honorable and one of the great things about being Serbian-backbone. Not that Serbia's current political elite have any.

What do you expect the EU to do for Serbia once in? Have a look at Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary or Poland. Poland’s living standards would have reached its current level without the EU. It’s still the largest exporter of workers in Europe and today would challenge the Philippines for the world title. A colleague of Polish background said that after a decade away nothing had changed. Prices are in Euros but you get paid Polish wages meaning workers are lowly paid but prices are high.
What has the EU done for Kosovo? Nothing. It’s a cess pit of criminality and they will never lift a finger. Well, MOL and OMV had expressed interested, but the Serbian Government foolishly refused an open bidding, but gave it to Gazprom. So, yes, there were no other offers because Serbia did not want to get other offers! Only the NIS' properties alone were conservatively valued at EUR 800M (double the Gazprom "offer" of EUR 400M). If Serbia's government cared more about Serbs themselves would have offered NIS for sale to Serbian citizens first at about EUR 55 each so the Serbian citizens would have got the bargain rather than the Russians.

That makes total sense and the numbers do indeed support it since the GDP per capita (at PPP) of Slovenia decreased from $18400 in 1991 to $27400 in 2013. Its main source of income is much like Croatia i.e. tourism. You want to try again?

Why do some Serbs on this forum believe we should exterminate the Albanians today? Have you morons not read up on your history? From the period of 1913-1914 and from 1918-1939, Serbia and the social experiment of Yugoslavia had in total 22 years to exterminate the Albanian population and/or expel them back to Turkey. The Serbs did kill off some Albanian towns and in the late 30's signed some agreement with Turkey to expel the Albanians (however this was voided in 1941). So if Serbia had 2 decades to expel/and or kill off the Albanian population from the Balkans and in turn failed to do so, why on earth do you believe we have a chance to complete it today?

Even in 1999, Slobodan Milosevic was not committing genocide, he was merely expelling the half a million odd Albanians who had no form of citizenship and were deemed illegal aliens (which can be legally done by any sovereign nation unless the Fourth Reich has a personal interest in the situation).

Why should Albanians be killed anyways? Don't you keyboard warriors know that 80% of Albanians are Serbs? Hell, even Thaci's great grandfather was an Orthodox priest named Radovan (a fact well know in Srbica). Is re education to hard to achieve?

It is easy to be a keyboard warrior and preach ethnic hate from your fancy apartments in Beograd or Novi Sad or Vienna or London. If a war did start, you degenerates would be the first ones to escape Serbia.

Serbia should just put its EU aspirations on hold - it will not get to the EU anyways, for several years at least, at the quickest.

Serbia only needs good trade and investment it is trading fine with EU countries. Plus Serbia's free trade agreement with Russia is starting to bear fruit. Serbia just needs to take more advantage of it and to help its own domestic producers.

Without EU rules Serbia is freer at making its own decisions. Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and many other countries aren't in the EU and don't want to be.

Serbia just needs to have opportunity for its most brilliant minds, encourage entrepreneurship, stamp out corruption and export more.

Related to EU integration from Serbian point of view I could imagine that they are considering following questions in their heads: Are European perspective and EU membership the same? Are benefits from joining to EU bigger or less than being outside it? Is there any alternative strategic alliances to EU? Also timeline should be noted. Who know is there anymore EU after current economical turmoil and if there is some kind of common union so what kind it is. From my point of view Serbia should not put all eggs in the same basket; economical cooperation with Russia and other BRIC countries can create real development on the ground instead slow development on the EU’s negotiation tables. Nobody has until this very day shown what other buyers were even offering to purchase NIS. Today NIS is a regional hub for natural gas and has retail outlets in Romania and other parts of the region. I am not a huge Russophile, but I like facts. Facts are there were no other offers for NIS and at the time it was a good offer because it came with the South Stream which the EU obstructed.

Far as facts go, Serbs are the only nation in the region that has consistently stood up to empires. Albanians have consistently sought to become vassals for those very same empires in exchange for bits of Serbia. I know it, you know it. That's why you hate us, but deep down love us so much.

Ottoman Empire, Austro-Hungary, Nazi Germany, NATO.. all treated Serbia as their primary target in the region. It's a bit#h to be the target of these empires all the time. But in a way, it's honorable and one of the great things about being Serbian-backbone. Not that Serbia's current political elite have any.

When you find yourself publicly advocating for ethic cleansing and genocide-lite, it's time to do a personal inventory of your values and ask yourself either when you lost sight of any kind of moral compass or whether you ever had one to begin with.

What do you expect the EU to do for Serbia once in? Have a look at Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary or Poland. Poland’s living standards would have reached its current level without the EU. Thing I don't understand is, how could someone end up like this in Australia? I know several people her age who, like her, moved out of Sarajevo under duress and, unlike her, moved with their families to Serbia. Perhaps you should also look at the figures you have quoted. In a period of 22 years the increase is only $9,000 or $400 per year which is in line with inflation of about 2.2%. Its growth rate is in the negative and its 60% of GDP in debt as of last year (and climbing) and Slovenia has only about 9% arable land. So what does it produce to make it such a paradise?
Its main source of income is much like Croatia i.e. tourism. You want to try again?

All anyone has to do is read comments by your brethren and your Croatian suppers on this site and you will see exactly that.

Why do some Serbs on this forum believe we should exterminate the Albanians today? Have you morons not read up on your history? From the period of 1913-1914 and from 1918-1939, Serbia and the social experiment of Yugoslavia had in total 22 years to exterminate the Albanian population and/or expel them back to Turkey. The Serbs did kill off some Albanian towns and in the late 30's signed some agreement with Turkey to expel the Albanians (however this was voided in 1941). So if Serbia had 2 decades to expel/and or kill off the Albanian population from the Balkans and in turn failed to do so, why on earth do you believe we have a chance to complete it today?

Even in 1999, Slobodan Milosevic was not committing genocide, he was merely expelling the half a million odd Albanians who had no form of citizenship and were deemed illegal aliens (which can be legally done by any sovereign nation unless the Fourth Reich has a personal interest in the situation).

Why should Albanians be killed anyways? Don't you keyboard warriors know that 80% of Albanians are Serbs? Hell, even Thaci's great grandfather was an Orthodox priest named Radovan (a fact well know in Srbica). Is re education to hard to achieve?

It is easy to be a keyboard warrior and preach ethnic hate from your fancy apartments in Beograd or Novi Sad or Vienna or London. If a war did start, you degenerates would be the first ones to escape Serbia.

Serbia should just put its EU aspirations on hold - it will not get to the EU anyways, for several years at least, at the quickest.

Serbia only needs good trade and investment it is trading fine with EU countries. Plus Serbia's free trade agreement with Russia is starting to bear fruit. Serbia just needs to take more advantage of it and to help its own domestic producers.

Without EU rules Serbia is freer at making its own decisions. Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and many other countries aren't in the EU and don't want to be.

Serbia just needs to have opportunity for its most brilliant minds, encourage entrepreneurship, stamp out corruption and export more.

And for your information we´d rather give the Russians our companies for free than sell for billions to the 4th reich.

Perhaps you should also look at the figures you have quoted. In a period of 22 years the increase is only $9,000 or $400 per year which is in line with inflation of about 2.2%.

Its growth rate is in the negative and its 60% of GDP in debt as of last year (and climbing) and Slovenia has only about 9% arable land.

Ok, let's say you are right. That does not make the statement "Today its citizens are worse off than ever before" correct :) That was what your post was about. But the negative growth rate can make it correct in the future when the GDP per capita (at PPP) goes under $9000. Let us know when that happens (if we are still around) and we'll give you a medal for correct prediction.

well, If you live in Australia, then chances are high that your kids dont give a dam about Serbia, nor will they in the future. Most probably they are 24/24 on their smartphones playing games or wasting time on social networks.

Why do you hate Albanians collectively? There are 3 million Albanians living in Albania that were never involved in Kosovo wars nor did anything to Serbs. What have they done to you to hate them so much? Why are you teaching your kids to hate? What kind of mother are you?

I speak for myself and you can't judge me based on what others say or what nationality I may or may not be part of - that is called bigotry. You should judge people based on their actions, not their national or ethnic origin - is that such a difficult concept for you to grasp?!

Nobody has until this very day shown what other buyers were even offering to purchase NIS. Today NIS is a regional hub for natural gas and has retail outlets in Romania and other parts of the region. I am not a huge Russophile, but I like facts. Facts are there were no other offers for NIS and at the time it was a good offer because it came with the South Stream which the EU obstructed.

Well, MOL and OMV had expressed interested, but the Serbian Government foolishly refused an open bidding, but gave it to Gazprom. So, yes, there were no other offers because Serbia did not want to get other offers! Only the NIS' properties alone were conservatively valued at EUR 800M (double the Gazprom "offer" of EUR 400M). If Serbia's government cared more about Serbs themselves would have offered NIS for sale to Serbian citizens first at about EUR 55 each so the Serbian citizens would have got the bargain rather than the Russians.

Far as facts go, Serbs are the only nation in the region that has consistently stood up to empires. Albanians have consistently sought to become vassals for those very same empires in exchange for bits of Serbia. I know it, you know it. That's why you hate us, but deep down love us so much.
