Serbian Church denies patriarch was invited to Vatican
A spokesman for the Serbian Orthodox Church has denied that <a href="http://www.b92.net/eng/news/politics.php?yyyy=2014&mm=08&dd=12&nav_id=91265" class="text-link" target= "_blank">Serbian Patriarch Irinej was invited to visit the Vatican</a> and meet with the Catholic pope.
It's amazing how petty these guys in the funny dresses and smelly beards can be. Who cares if you are invited to the Vatican. I was shocked at how vicious and threatening the orthodox guy was to the catholic one. These guys take their wrath out publicly on each other without any embarrassment. I thought these guys were supposed to be "holy".
This is simply a case of the fragile Serb ego. The officials of the Serbian Orthodox Church were somehow embarrassed to admit they weren't important enough to be invited to the Vatican. So, they fabricated a fib by saying an invitation had been offered, hoping to get a last minute invitation to Rome and thereby avoiding having their lie found out. If the Church had said nothing, they would not now be wiping egg from their face. Serbs never seem to learn to get off their high horse, serves them right.
Oh the tangled web we weave when we practice to deceive!
Whew, that is a relief. The Pope has achieved such popularity with the people and respect from Catholics and non Catholics, this could have tainted that image in a major way.

He added that the likely real purpose of Nemet's "excurse" was to inflict yet another insult to the SPC, its leader and the entire Serb nation - "by comparing us to kindergarten children that do everything out of spite." - B92
Bloody nora - all the Bishop did (or didnt do) was invite the head of the SPC to the Vatican - how in the name of all humanity does that go to .... "that by comparing us to kindergarten children that do everything out of spite."

Why couldnt the SPC just say - "sorry, no invitaion was issued - there has been a mistake", but nooooooooooooooo that would have been to easy - they needed to find another way to turn a molehill into a mountain.
