4 billion are just peanuts for Russia when stolen money of the alligators are back from Londongrad to Volgograd. Besides Russia will earn lots of money because Centrobank deposits are 8% here while in US treasuries we have only 2,5% annual.

Oh dear, the statement above really shows total ignorance on economic matters. But I do still believe you a great strategist in virtual war games :)

So be patient. It’s a pity you cannot see the joy of the Russians for the backfire opened today ! We are not here to retreat or even step back. We can also be irrational when it comes to the issues of dignity and independence. Oh I have to explain to you what independence is.

By the way today I was afraid Putin will send troops but the info was fake.

You must be Russian, traditional, typical, bullying. Read a little history, what Russia did to Eastern Europe, or ask your daddy, perhaps someone who lived in one of these unfortunate places, occupied and terrorised by parasitic Russia.

As I said, Russians will begin to feel the pain of their own governments "ban" on everything that the average citizen loves.

Yes we were independent, for 45 years, the parasite Russians sucked our bloods, and looted our resources at gunpoint in Middle and Eastern Europe. Any kind of dependence to EU or even Barack Husseinovich is far better than those barbaric times. Europe does not forget, Russia has not changed much since CCCP. Because you can survive without them and you can bury them all if needed.

It’s hard for you to understand but they say that once upon a time some European states were independent too but it was long ago. Independence is when Barrack Husseinovic provokes Europe for sanctions and when Russia strikes back and they ask him what to do he shows them his big finer and goes to his vacations with his pretty nice daughters. It is different from the Russian meaning of the word but it’s also independence. Europeans have sold their souls and now I have to explain how good it is to be free. When applied on Russia, sanctions are moral and wise. When applied on the west sanctions are cruel and foolish. How can this be, can't people see that all sanctions are immoral and foolish.

The purpose of Government is not to prevent business when they can't fix something else. If that is the policy and future of the EU, perhaps the EU should align itself with Serbia's position.

Now how can anyone think that Serbia should impose sanctions on ANYONE?

Hey Capitan Idiot, How much of the delicious pesticide ladened fruit and vegetables from Montenegro or Albania reach the EU market? Very little if any. They export most to Russia, not anymore.
(robert1899, 7 August 2014 17:21)

Simmer down robert1899. Why such hostility? I was simply mentioning a fact. What does Albania have to do with anything? Albania isn't mentioned anywhere in the article nor was Albania mentioned by Russia. If you bothered reading my post you would notice that I was commenting on the ban all together. So, your reading disability aside, yes! The ban will hurt the average Russian citizen more than the countries who will be affected by the ban. I'm just keeping things in perspective.

You're a very strange person indeed. I'm waiting for you to somehow mention the KLA and peaches and plums in the same post.

The very same countries that are imposing sanctions on Russia are filling Russia's coffers with Euro's by purchasing Russia's Energy. Now that is dumb.

Russia's GDP is less than 1/7th that of the US and 1/8th that of the EU. Russia is far more vulnerable to sanctions than the West is to retliation. For the last two years Putin has been financing his efforts with the Russian Federation Pension Fund. The seizure of the Crimea and possible seizure of Donetsk and Lugansk will cost Russia a great deal in reconstruction costs. On top of that, each of the provinces was costing the Ukraine billions in annual aid since they are all net losers. There's a good article on this in the Moscow Times titled "The high price of the Crimea", April 8, 2014. An article today in the Moscow Times titled, "Two sanctioned Russian banks turn to government for aid" indicates that two Russian government controlled banks are now asking for $4 billion in aid due to the sanctions. Eventually Putin will run of of pension/welfare funds to draw from. It might take a few years, but we can expect him to become increasingly reasonable as that time draws near. We just have to be patient.

This ban against imports is so dumb. When the Russians start seeing things they enjoy having become unavailable, that's going to hurt them more than the countries imposing the sanctions. Yes! Replace healthy European fruits and vegetables for pesticide chemical laden Chinese ones. Mm Mmmmmmm Papa Putin loves you!
