Ivanović "confident" he'll prove his innocence

"I am absolutely confident that I will prove my innocence, but until then I must pay a steep price," Oliver Ivanović has told the daily Večernje Novosti.

"No,they don't throw people who protest peacefully into jails like the Serb police in Yugoslavia did in 1981 or 1989. Neither do they shoot and kill them."

Right. KPS only arrests people into prison for 'looking suspicious' or for wearing T-Shirts with Cyrillic letters. And when these 'prisoners' are released, they often show signs of torture. In case of Ivanovic, it's absurd that he's in prison for 6 months without any court ruling or indictment.

A prisoner must mince words and so must the diplomats. The rest of us are not so obliged. He is being held hostage, like all the other Serbian prisoners in Kosovo, by the blood soaked thugs running Pristina.

Apparently courts in this jurisdiction are like that paragon of justice, the ICTY. Laughable that an accused is required to "prove his innocence". In most reputable judiciaries, an accused is presumed innocent and the burden of proof is on the prosecutor and the court.

Apparently courts in this jurisdiction are like that paragon of justice, the ICTY. Laughable that an accused is required to "prove his innocence". In most reputable judiciaries, an accused is presumed innocent and the burden of proof is on the prosecutor and the court.
