As expected, Thaci gets another stay-out-of-jail card from Washington, whom he owes his life, body, and soul to. No surprise there. As far as "lack of evidence", it's pretty easy not to find anything when years have allowed those committing the crimes to cover up and/or destroy anything incriminating. The KLA's been doing this long before Russian "patriots" in Ukraine started tampering with evidence.

And as expected, war crimes prosecutions for next year will probably target anyone at or below Limaj's pay grade. Thaci and Haradinaj are too valuable for the CIA to lose. Not that that's a bad thing though. Yes, justice will not be served, but Thaci's proven to be quite the useful tool in supporting the international community's drive to empower Kosovo's Serb community. Haradinaj's been thoroughly programmed as well in case the PDK gets booted out of power, so if we can't see them incarcerated, we can at least see them sign deals with Belgrade :)

The absurdity of all of this comes from the fact that Serbia and the Serbs see themselves as innocent victims, as a country who has lost so much from all these well concocted evil western plans directed against her. Yet at the same time Serbia and the Serbs see themselves as triumphant winners who are so brave and so smart that they beat global superpowers in every battle and caused the evil west so much damage. This attitude is so silly, that its symptomatic to a society in great need of a reality check. Its a symptom of Serbia's escapist attempts and a need to soothe their national consciousness. This is done by escaping and not facing it past and hence believing in myths, conspiracy theories, the simultaneous duality of defenseless victim and triumphant winners. This is is what we see from Serbia and the Serb commenters everyday here on B92. If you think about it, this is the same we see from Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela and lastly Putin's Russia. At the end its your choice. If that's where you as Serbs want to be it fine, but don't expect to be respected from the rest of the world and seen as a normal society.

But then we have you and others who are in the know and were witness to these crimes and know that witness intimidation and elimination were directly from Haradinaj(while he was in custody) and you have evidence of all the crimes that were committed even though you were not there. Or is your knowledge actually what you have heard coupled with your desire to know they are guilty?
