Russia said on Friday it was "astonished" by a statement made by U.S. President Barack Obama concerning the unilateral declaration of Kosovo's independence.

I am not surprised by your comment,ignorance is the Albanian national sport.Democracy in Greece was secured by the blood and sacrifice of 700000 Greeks who lost their lives in world war II.The US is responsible though for installing a military dictatorship in Greece(thousands of people were interned in prisons for their political beliefs) and also responsible for organizing and executing the Turkish invasion in Cyprus resulting to 250000 Greek refugees(read wikileaks and Snowden cables).

Russian President Vladimir Putin told the Serbian leadership that if they succumb to pressure from the EU to ask Belgrade to immediately repay the debt of close to one billion euros for Russian gas, but also to compensate for the damage that Russia has suffered due to delay work on the South Stream.

2. There was an UDI, but not be parliament, but by some-self-proclaimed group called 'people of Kosovo'
3. Russia hasn't been 'part of the negotiations' and the UDI was not an 'UN led process', but, as the name says, a unilateral declaration.
4. The ICJ ruled that the UDI was not violating international law, because there is no international law about UDIs, and an UDI doesn't mean statehood.
5. The ICJ ruled that the UDI was not against UN1244 exactly because the UDI was made by this self-proclaimed group mentioned above and NOT by the interim Kosovo administration (which was acting under UN1244 and would have violated it by an UDI)
6. In Crimea, there was a referendum, but this referendum was not legal under Ukrainian law, because a referendum about splitting off a part of the territory must be held in the whole country.
7. A referendum in Kosovo (and only Kosovo) would be against Serbian law, and would have been against YU laws
8. Unlike other YU republics, Kosovo had no option to leave the federation.
9. Russia thinks that by removing insignia from the uniforms of it's soldiers, it was not an invasion and military act.
10. Russia violated the bilateral Budapest treaty which guaranteed territorial integrity to Ukraine

One news went unnoticed and concerns the crisis in Ukraine. Nigeria withdrew its recognition of Kosovo because of the delicate situation in their own country.
Same old ignorant BS from the United States - when you dont know the facts, better to keep your mouth shut rather than making it up as you go along. All credibility now lost.
When the western allies say something - they want you to believe that it is the truth. When others disagree with them - they manipulate the people into believing that it is propaganda.
1. There was no referendum about an independent Kosovo
2. There was an UDI, but not be parliament, but by some-self-proclaimed group called 'people of Kosovo'
3. Russia hasn't been 'part of the negotiations' and the UDI was not an 'UN led process', but, as the name says, a unilateral declaration.
4. The ICJ ruled that the UDI was not violating international law, because there is no international law about UDIs, and an UDI doesn't mean statehood.
5. The ICJ ruled that the UDI was not against UN1244 exactly because the UDI was made by this self-proclaimed group mentioned above and NOT by the interim Kosovo administration (which was acting under UN1244 and would have violated it by an UDI)
6. In Crimea, there was a referendum, but this referendum was not legal under Ukrainian law, because a referendum about splitting off a part of the territory must be held in the whole country.
7. A referendum in Kosovo (and only Kosovo) would be against Serbian law, and would have been against YU laws
8. Unlike other YU republics, Kosovo had no option to leave the federation.
9. Russia thinks that by removing insignia from the uniforms of it's soldiers, it was not an invasion and military act.
10. Russia violated the bilateral Budapest treaty which guaranteed territorial integrity to Ukraine
So if the US and NATO have recognized Kosovo, and if you split off against the Constitution of Serbia, which is the difference that Crimea will be separated from the Ukraina???
Kosovo has a desire for Albania and the Crimea to Russia, quite simply!!!
Come on Reader! You're reading children stories. The Yanks don't think with their heads, they think with their weapons. America is controlled by the wealthy and the poor just get poorer. If the Yanks can pull it off, Kosovo will be part of Albania. They'd say YES to any takeover if they could get a piece of the action. Come on Yanks, you'd like some part of the Crimea too.
USA is responsible for that democratic system you have today in most EU including Greece (what's left of it).

The US once had ideals, all those left in 1908, then in again 1915 or was it 1917. No one disputes the innovation, but I think your confusing CAPITALISM with Democracy. India has an older Democracy, Greece pioneered democracy... The Native peoples of North America had democracy..prior to the white man. If you honestly think you have democracy in the US now, the government got exactly what they wanted.
