Very nice professional writing, almost too good for what is found in these forums, but anyway the message is wrong, wrong, wrong. Ivanovic's arrest has nothing to do with Pristina but more the capital of the country more northern. As that is the only chance they have of keeping him from getting elected which would be a disaster for the non government choice to carry the most important Serb enclave.

An awfully terrible day for Western democracy. Hard to have any faith and trust in any social structure or system. Bearing in mind that Thaci the war criminal is running the Province with the blessing of EULEX, NATO, EU, USA and the Rest. OMG - OMG!

With the rest including UN, Russia, the majority of Kosovo citizens, etc, etc...

Given that Serbia currently does not have a police and judicial authorities in Kosovo, there has to be some kind of trust that EULEX will not allow all the dissatisfaction with the authorities in Pristina agreement in Brussels, manifested by restoring the pressure and intimidation of Serbs in Kosovo. Arrests Oliver Ivanovic, before the start of the election campaign for mayor of Kosovska Mitrovica, is another aspect of this pressure, which aims to bring fear among Serbs in Kosovo, and possibly caused some incident that would serve as a justification for any new conflicts and halting or at least slow down the implementation of the Brussels agreement.

"Vučić said that it was very important for the peace and stability and mutual trust that Ivanović be released and called on Ashton to get involved in solving the problem. "

Well, even though in Serbia it might be normal practice for politicians to get involved in "solving a problem" with the judiciary, that's not how things work in the EU.
