“After Russia's aggression towards Georgia, Ukraine and Syria …”

Bad news for you is that idiotism is not treated. The good news is that even US and it’s euro-vassals has acknowledged Georgia as the aggressor while aggressions against the Ukraine and Syria I have to leave without a comment.See the bad news.

Don’t be that naïve and as a Reader keep yourself away from the zombie box also known as TV set. Gazprom is not an assembly of idiots but a business company with Ruhr Gas and other European shareholders in it. Why should they lose control over the project they invest so much money? Only because someone cannot get rid of his Russophobe complex of inferiority? EU energy balance for 27% is composed of the Russian oil and only for 25% of the Russian gas. Now ask yourself why are they so anxious for gas and say nothing about our oil ? I guess it’s evident that the reason is the state policy Gazprom conducts alongside with it’s main business.

This is why EU puts new conditions and creates new bars for Gazprom’s expansion. Especially today when natural gas production in Netherland and Norway is falling so drastically down and 100% of the liquid Qatar is shipped to India and China for higher prices. So EU puts new ultimatums that most often end with their own step backs. As you know EU is a castrated toothless sheep. They can only twist hands of the multiple small and helpless pseudo countries they’ve arranged on the continent during last two decades. So don’t worry about Gasprom and never tell us fairy tales about imaginary fairy competition !

No doubt Russia will meet the challenge...

.. and fail.

After Russia's aggression towards Georgia, Ukraine and Syria it has become most obvious that the appeasement policy failed. EU starts slowly to realize that and counters the Oligarchy-FSB-KGB country. Enough is enough..

" I guess everybody understands that the third packet and all the other activities have only one goal – RUSSIA."
(rote, 31 January 2014 16:56)

You guess wrong on the "everybody understands" rote. It seems to me that this: "Third Energy Package which stipulate that the same firm cannot be at the same the exclusive importer and distributor of gas" has the goal of preventing monopolies in the energy sector and ensuring some fair competition, which is always good. Similar laws are in place in other democratic countries. Their fair enforcement is another matter, on which I have no information.
I believe, Gazprom and Serbia could circumvent this by having Gazprom release its majority (51%) share in NIS Serbia, so that the importer and the distributor are not the same company. Do you think Gazprom would go for that?

“Serbia, which has a similar agreement with Russia, taking into account that it is not an EU member state and that the Third Energy Package is not in force in it. “

One can only add “UNTILL THE SAA IS IMPLEMENTED” … I guess everybody understands that the third packet and all the other activities have only one goal – RUSSIA. All other 6 states are just innocent victims of this never ending battle. Same as the EU sponsored events in the Ukraine. They call it as DRANG NAH OSTEN. No doubt Russia will meet the challenge.
