This is a welcome and very sensible move by the Serbian Government.

Whatever some people in the former Yugoslavia think of that time, as with any period of any nation's history, it's vital to keep it alive and show respect, as we do in the UK where we preserve statues, monuments and other symbols to ALL sides in our own civil conflicts.

I don't believe that we've seen the end of the concept of Yugoslavia, even if it does not re-emerge looking anything like its predecessors.

My country, England, comprised of separate, often warring, kingdoms for 400 years before it finally became a single nation, later joining with other British nations to form a union that was successful up until recently.

The idea of Yugoslavia, however, is only around 150 years old, and it's existence less than 100. Historically that is nothing.

This library could be a seed rather than a fossil.
