AI: UNMIK did not solve cases of missing Serbs

just a thought, nowhere in the article does anyone say anything about revenge. In order to make such a conclusion, some sort of investigation would have to be had been made and the fact that it hasn't is the subject of the article.

Yes, simply because these Serbs went missing under UNMIK, after the Kumanovo agreement, i.e. not during war time. So if Albanians killed them, it's not a war crime, but ordinary murder.

You might call it 'revenge crime', but only in a broader sense, when you believe in the concept of collective guilt it as collective guilt. I don't think, for example, the teenagers swimming in the river shot be 'unknown' perpetrators committed any crime against Albanians before.

What about for Albanians ? !!!

First of all, UNMIK has few admin guys in Kosova and nothing more. Useless bunch, getting paid for doing nothing.
UNMIK during the time it governed Kosova, did investigate only Albanians and not Serbs for killing Serbs for state interests, and that is why Serbs loves UNMIK so much. EULEX is another useless bunch to investigate Serbs. They only investigate Albanians. UNMIK went home, so will EULEX VERY SOON.

It's not true.

1754 people are still listed as missing in Kosovo.
1106 are Albanians.
541 are Serbs.
107 are "others" (mostly Roma)

Now, by simply using a calculator you will easily determine that Albanians are 63% of the people still missing in Kosovo.
But, percentage doesn't really matter, families on all sides grieve for their loved ones, and deserve to have a closure and find out the fate of their relatives. Even 1% is too much.
The point of AI is that UNMIK didn't do what they supposed to.

The term "revenge killing" is a pathetic euphemism to deny the true nature of the crime. It's murder. There is no such thing as revenge murder in the civilized world. Murder is murder. Those crimes must be punished. and that's the essence of the AI report.
This notion of collective guilt in the Balkans must end. It's the source of most wars. For instance, as an American I am not responsible for what my government did in Japan (Atomic Bombs). If an Albanian kills a Serb, are all Albanians responsible for that death. This is childish thinking and it must end.

I am sorry, I did not realize that you relied only on the Serbian reporting, but if you read the other reports where it contains actual quotes from the AI report you will find it listed as revenge crimes.
Comm Parrison, the incident you list was some 4 years later and not included in the time frame of the report. Therefore no they would not be considered revenge killings and since no evidence has been uncovered to date it is only Serb speculation that it was committed by Albanians.

there are still over 1,000 missing Albanians, some hundreds of missing Serbs, also hundreds of missing "others." i really don't know if the fault here is (only) the milosevic press or more the "humanitarian" amnesty international, who have been less than forthcoming in dealing with Kosova.

but with the milosevic press, you can never be sure of anything unless you read at least 2 other related sources from the free world.

how the milosevic press deals with the issue of the missing is sickening, and should be a war crime in itself. we're still waiting for you to open all of the mass graves. you just have to threaten them, cause all the carrots in the world do not help.

This organisation (Amnesty Int. ) might have some credibility if it actually made some noises regarding the 10 year incarceration of Dr. Vojislav Seselj in the Hague..... without conviction!! They are only interested in Western puppets like that Burmese woman who since her liberation has done nothing for Burma, but they never stopped going on about her whilst she was under house-arrest. At least she was in her own country!!

What you say is true to a point. Revenge killings only breed more revenge killings. However it is not as if this was totally misdirected. The Serbian neighbors were largely responsible for what happened to the Albanians in Kosovo, the police were local Serbs and their families. Property stolen was by neighbors not nameless faceless people.
As far as the number of missing Serbs, many fled Kosovo to Serbia and other parts of the world living under assumed names to avoid the possibility of arrest for crimes they committed during the war.
Murder is murder but do you really think killing the person responsible for killing your son or father or brother or sister the same as killing a total stranger for no other reason than their ethniticity?
If you say yes you are not being truthful, and I think you will find most legal systems would disagree with you by adding the phrase mitigating circumstances.
And not a lot of people agree with you on the Atomic Bomb, while it took a huge human toll it brought an immediate end to the war and most likely saved lives, just like the bombing campaign against Serbia most likely saved thousands if not hundreds of thousands of lives.
