Peggy,
You don't get it, or you're leaving on denial. There is only one Albanian Nation. You insult Kosova/Dardania, you insult all Albanians in the region. President Nishani is acting in self-interest.

@Grobar1 ...as a typical Greek trying hard to be a smart ass that he isn't...you do nothing but spell more hatred... Try to read some more and hate less...also pull your head off your lazy ass and learn to know other cultures for what they really are and not for what you have been told for all your life, like a sheep that you present yourself here...cheers from Albania...your neighbor...you can go on now and insult as much as you need

Belgrade politics has proven once again how biased they are! Say something and do something else. They have the arrogance and absurdity of calling it good political strategy thinking they fool everybody, when in fact it only backfires to their face for quite some time now. Sorry but you have to check your politician integrity and maybe your own.. instead of blaming everything on the neighbors and "powers to be".

(the truth, 29 May 2013 17:39)

If only 'Kosova' could be proud not only of something destructive like being the cause for canceling a regional meeting (and for being Europe's main drug hub and for protesting against arrests of alleged war criminals), but for something constructive and productive like some technical or economical achievements, the world would be a better place.

Interesting. When the UN was leading, UNMIK-Kosovo was represented. Now that the EU is leading, we have divisions as expected. Germany at the helm means divisions and bye bye Europe. History repeating.

Really?

Before the summit was canceled, a spokesman for EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fule denied reports of Albanian language media in Priština that Fule had decided not to attend.

I am reading it differently.

Isn't it funny how when Serbia cancells an appearance at some meeting every Albanian jumps up and down and calls Serbia unreasonable, silly, shooting herself in the foot etc. but hey look, Albanian president did the same thing.
The difference is that Serbia is looking after her interests but this Albanian guy is not doing this because of Albania's interest but because of someone elses. That's even more stupid.
Maybe he knows that he has nothing to contribute and nobody would miss him anyway.

Serbia and FYROM once again confirmed that the indeed suffer from Albanophobia. Their move backfired in such a spectacular way!

Apparently the participation came down to only 3 Presidents, Serbia, Bosnia and FYROM. An unimportant to anyone, trilateral meeting.

Once again however they have been reminded that The Civilized World is not going to tolerate such behavior, those days are long gone.

The same I would say to many posters below, you know who you are.

As an outsider, I don't blame Albanians for considering joining in a Federation. After all, if you have such neighbors like Serbia arming itself and being so destructive and always in need to dominate. And than a so called FYROM state, unsure of themselves backstabbing, of course there must be a need not only for Albanians but for the rest of us to restore some balance in Balkans, as we can not keep our Soldiers there forever protecting you guys from each other.

Political leaders in the Balkans are just clowns! Makes me question the sincerity of the SEECP which supposed to be an organisation which brings the countries of south-east Europe/Balkans together! The summit itself would have been nothing but a circus anyway as all countries in have extremely sweet relations between one another!! Good they cancelled it...

5 SEECP countries do not recognise Kosovo, just for the information, Greece, Serbia, Bosnia, Romania and Moldova! How can Kosovo participate? They are not a member of the organisation and they can't join it! why don't they stop making a fuss before every regional meeting?

Notice how complicated relations between countries are in the Balkans, Bulgaria and Greece are "enemies" of Macedonia, Serbia and Macedonia are friends, Greece and Bulgaria are friends with Serbia, Albania is a friend of Kosovo, Bosnia is forced to be a friend of Serbia due to the huge serb population, Macedonia is forced to have good relations with Kosovo and Albania because of the large Albanian minority. In addition to this, Macedonians hate Albanians, Greeks hate Macedonians. Croats, Bosniaks and Serbs relatively hate one another. Greeks call Macedonians Bulgarians, Serbs call Albanians Sh*****, Croats call Serbs Chetniks (Albanians stole that nickname too), Serbs call Croats Ustashas! Kosovo, Albania, Greece and Bulgaria will not be there for different reasons.
Which means almost half of south eastern european countries will not be at the summit.
No EU representative will tak part.

Well done, FYROM. Great organisation you got there... I'm sure this will help your EU and NATO integration.

And 'striktly speaking', Serbia shouldn't need to have any objections because Kosovo cannot be invited simply because the statutes say that only recognized states can participate, and Kosovo doesn't belong to this group.

Should all organizations change their statues regarding membership, only because of Kosovo?

Peggy,
You don't get it, or you're leaving on denial. There is only one Albanian Nation. You insult Kosova/Dardania, you insult all Albanians in the region. President Nishani is acting in self-interest.
