Businessman Beko questioned over Port of Belgrade

I just finished watching Insajder on B92, amd man, is this country crooked and sarurated in corruption. The political parties, it seems all of them, are inter mingled with directors of state owned enterprises, bleeding millions of Euros away from state cofers, at the expense of Serbia's citizens. I don't know about this Beko, or Miskovic, they got where they are with the help of politicians, no dought, so it's the politicians the state should go after. Only problem, they run the state. Te EU concentrates so much on Kosovo, IMHO, who cares? Until Serbia cleans itself up internally, it can never be an EU candidate. Why do I get the feeling that the EU and Serbia are playing this cat and mouse game, using Kosovo as a prop, while more important, behind the scences, scenerios are going on?

Te EU concentrates so much on Kosovo, IMHO, who cares? Until Serbia cleans itself up internally, it can never be an EU candidate. Why do I get the feeling that the EU and Serbia are playing this cat and mouse game, using Kosovo as a prop, while more important, behind the scences, scenerios are going on?

I cannot see where you drag the EU into this. The EU has laid out the list of things Serbia must do to join. It listed possible corruptions and this was one of them, exactly why the govt is probing it, whether this is a true probe or a facade to look so is strictly in Serbia's court.
As far as using Kosovo as a Prop as you call it, you are just now seeing that. Everytime people start looking at something your govt does not want then we suddenly have some big crisis with the Kosovo issue and everyone forgets about anything else. This has been done for years and by each different govt. Including this one. You Serbs suddenly get your emotions into high gear and someone could steal the food off your plate and you would never even notice.

What kind of (ethnic) name is "Beko"? It certainly doesn't look Serbia. Also, Serbia should be rooting out corruption for itself, and itself alone -and maybe that's the main reason. Most Serbs don't want to join the EU and it is wrong for the government to push only that path when most of the country does not want to be under EU dictates.
