Hahahaa! NATO destroyed your country and NATO and KLA knocked you back into Serbia and now you are so petty to turn the downing of 1 silly plane in a "anniversary" as if there is something for Serbia to celebrate from the Kosova War? In total, NATO air forces launched 38,004 combat sorties, of which 10,484 were strikes against targets in Serbia, Kosovo from above 20,000 feet in the air. Now compare 1 stealth fighter against 38,004 combat sorties. Yes, be proud Serbia for your amazing achievement and unarguable military success! Lol

Lt. Nich Richardson, the pilot of harrier that was shot down over Gorazde biggest worry was being caught by izetbegovic's mujahedeen who wanted to chop him up. He'd been briefed before hand that this was the greatest threat if he went down. The british military would have been much happier if the VRS captured him. That plane was only the tip of the iceberg. There were many, many more that came down. My cousin was in that war. He told me on average two planes per day and countless Tomahawk missels. The shoot down was no accident but due to the diligence and study before hand buy the guy in question, i.e. knowing its vulnerability to lw radar, that NATO used the same 'bombing' corridors night after night. There are interviews with him where he explains how he did it. A second one was damaged but made it back to base where it was written off, like a number of other NATO aircraft but as they didn't come down over serbia, NATO didn't list them as 'combat losses'.

The side effect was that it forced NATO to change its tactics, i.e. be less arrogant about their invincibility. Other successes were the capture of a cruise missile and understanding that its terminal seeker worked via infra-red, so the serbs painted alternate colored patterns where necessary that defeated this kind of attack, shot down NATO drones using helicopters not to mention extensive maskirovka (bridges made out of plastic, migs made out of wood, extensive camoflage etc.) that left the army virtually untouched in Kosovo and still capable of wiping out albanian terrorists. So much for the Apaches flying from northern albana, at least two of which crashed and never took part in combat.

That was why NATO preferred attacking civilian infrastructure and targets. Much easier, especially since Lousie Arbour of the ICTY at the time refused to investigate NATO which was given effective immunity for war crimes.

He was regular solder of US army and he would have been treated as prisoners of war according to Geneva Convention. The Geneva Convention apply in wars between two or more sovereign states. However, Geneva Conventions does not apply in case of unlawful (illegal) combatants. Even somebody is declared illegal combatant, still the organs should not be taken out.

The official NATO story about the bombing of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia lists 2 NATO planes lost. There was the “invisible” F117 shot down at the start of the aggression and an F16 shot down near Sabac.

There are many reasons to believe that NATO aircraft were decimated over Serbia. Reports from the ground, from different sources, reported eye witness accounts of over 100 “downings.” Some of these will be cruise missiles, but many were undoubtedly aircraft.

As a comparison, let us examine events in neighbouring Bosnia. When NATO bombed Republika Srpska they lost at least 3 aircraft. One was a British plane shot down over Gorazde. I have seen a video of this plane being hit and crashing; it was shown on British TV and must be on Yutube. The second was a French plane shot down over Pale. This was also filmed and the 2 French crew captured by Serbian forces. The third was the now famous Scott O’Grady who was shot down and later rescued by the American. This story was later made into a Hollywood film. These three losses cannot be denied, but the Serbs claim they shot down many more NATO planes but that the planes crashed outside of their territory.

Serbia had much better air defence systems than existing in Republika Srpska. It also had highly trained men who had developed sophisticated anti-aircraft tactics. Is it plausible that Republika Srpska shot down more NATO aircraft than Serbia?

The official NATO story has already been compromised by a US airforce general who has admitted that he and another US plane were shot down over Serbia "My plane got hit and went down behind enemy lines along with another pilot," (http://www.acc.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123221741 ).

When NATO is finally expelled from Serbia, then perhaps we will learn the truth about NATO’s weaknesses and Serbia heroism.

Lol

Only one fighter of this type was ever lost in action: that used in attacks on the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro).

The aircraft, worth some USD 45mn, was shot down in the evening of March 27, 1999, near the village of Buđanovci, in Vojvodina, northern Serbia.

And, the special US forces whisked the pilot away without any problem from the heart of Serbia. There was no need to fire a single shot, since all Serb forces were a sleep and blind.

B92 "Soldiers of the Yugoslav Army (VJ) 250th Air Defense Brigade brought the plane down using two anti-aircraft Neva missiles - "thanks to their skill, equipment in working order, and a small technical innovation".

But more to do with "obsolete" Soviet radars operating on long wavelengths.

But the pilot was rescued by search and rescue forces near Belgrade.

Oh yes, I remember the incident rather well. I seem to recall seeing on the news many Serbs dancing on the wings of the downed bomber. What these poor individuals didn't realize was that the resin on the wings is highly carcinogenic. Perhaps that is the reason why many pregnant Serb women during the war bore children with birth defects, while many other people in Serbia contracted various forms of cancer.

That plane was only the tip of the iceberg. There were many, many more that came down. My cousin was in that war. He told me on average two planes per day and countless Tomahawk missels. Nato does not want to admit that they got a whipping from a small country like Serbia. This is classified top secret information.

Of course the Serbs took it down.. albos wouldn't have been able to do it because they can't throw their rocks that high.

As for the Serbs who took down this so-called ghost plane, all Serbs around the world were cheering for you. It was a great day that went down in history and will always be remembered. we cost the u.s $45mil and made them realise they are not very hard to detect.

What was funny was i remember watching CNN when i was a kid and they tried to pass it off as a pilot malfunction, yet every other media around the world showed the truth.

@count of disneyland: you wrote "resin on the wings is highly carcinogenic. Perhaps that is the reason why many pregnant Serb women during the war bore children with birth defects" ...

boy, as far as it is known today ( perhaps you know more than modern medicine ) there can be no talk of any birthdefects DURING the NATO-agression due to contact with the wreckage of that plane. any significant mutation or birthdefect needs more than only 78 days to develop and your comment seems to be just another example of how mislead the k-albanian youth is down there in southern Serbia.

actually it´s just the opposite: it´s the albanian women who are giving birth to freak-babies in southern Serbia, and very likely the reason is uranium-depleted ammo. so please give us a break and stop making a fool of yourself here.

in the end of the day, your comment is good, because it perfectly displays how low the level of info is amongst the average k-albanian reader of downtown-Priština´s yellow press.

by the way, have you ever seen one of those poor k-albanian victims of US-depleted-uranium? ...or is it a kanun-rule that freak-babies are not allowed in the k-albanian society and therefore you do not see them in public?

the bottomline is: even under this article you´re desperately trying to spread your stupid propaganda and once again you fail miserably. aren´t you fed up with your ineffectiveness? =)

He wrote a book about it 'No Escape Zone' (see here on Amazon):
