A writer is a thinker a good element for the president. He must have ability to protect the country and all of his people. He must not allow outsiders to make decisions for the country..

I am sure Beckovic is a decent and principled man, unlike many politicians. However, I would not hire a lawyer to fix my car so why should I expect a writer, even a very good one, to be the right person to represent Serbia as a working head of state? The election of a 'symbolic' popular candidate is unlikely to meet this country's urgent need for a strong, credible leader. Serbia's President must be able to demonstrate very considerable political and personal skills and also, the insight and wisdom to be guided by clear values, the values shared by a majority of the people she or he serves. A symbolic president would be too vulnerable to manipulation by unelected vested interests - and that is the last thing Serbia needs.
