what about if 2 parties making a coalition isn't enough to form a majority in parliament?

no party wants to make a coalition with any more parties than it needs to

Installing a two-party system is too drastic, but I agree that there are too many parties. Ideally we would have 7-10 parties maximum. Parties would not be based on ethnic or religious grounds, only on core political beliefs (conservatism, socialism, liberalism, etc.) and coalitions would be capped at two parties maximum, otherwise they are too inefficient, as we can see today. But hey, that's just too reasonable sounding for us, isn't it?...

There are too many stinking parties in Serbia. I would limit it to two - and let winning (elected) party run the government, while the losing party be a part of ruling assembly. With so many political parties in Serbia, you can never get rid of the same old faces. They just leech on as part of the coalition, and ride that "elite" political meal ticket forever. Lets get rid of some of these old rascals.

Do you really want to eliminate democracy in your country & replace it with the American system?

As I suspected, the DS, LDP and SPS would be more than willing to form a coalition government after the election. Therefore, I encourage voters to choose the SNS, DSS or SRS as only those parties can defeat the Western followers and protect the interests of Serbian citizens. They will not sell out tens of thousands of their own citizens just to get candidate status.

So there we have it. Battle lines have been drawn so to speak.
All that remains is to see whether Kostunica will join with SNS, or possibly take a position within SNS that LDP would have with DS, supporting the government, but at any moment could bring it down, a la G17.
