It’s not common for me that a non Albanian poster minds my arguments. Thanks ! More often I just have my poor comments. Still I insist the journalists are soldiers first of all and they knew it when they choose their profession. I am very far from the idealistic understanding of the profession. In the 21 century they are not reporters but propagandists and very often they use the tricks used by the militaries on the occupied territories. They make exclusions only over peanuts and mobilize their skill when the stakes are high.

What could Serbia do when the mud machine was switched on in 1979 ? Nothing ! They still cannot wash themselves off. Who were the soldiers in that war – the journalists. It was them but not the bombers who made the land operation unnecessary. In case of necessity they become militaries and thus they should have the same guarantees and privileges the soldiers and the policemen enjoy. But let us tell the truth. They are always on their wallet’s side. Not ours. Though sometimes accidentally it is the same side.

Rote I don't think the point is that journalists should have more rights for security than ordinary people. The point is that journalists are more likely to be attacked than ordinary people when they are doing their job. And more often than not its the ones who are attacked who are doing something good. The scumbag journalists (usually ordered by their editors or corporate owners) are not the ones who get attacked.

You reminded me of something else that there is more public support for in western countries - that an attack on a policeman is somehow worse than an attack of a member of the public and should be punished more.

So, question if an ordinary member of the public is killed is his life less valuable than a policeman, or a journalist? In my opinion, no.

The idiot in question who attacked the journalist got off with a light sentence. Perhaps it should not have been a very heavy sentence, but there is a feeling in Serbia among the ordinary public that we have had enough of hooliganism.

As any normal man I am against violence of all kinds. But for God’s sake why are we always imposed this fake idea that journalists have more rights for security ? And where are those heroes who sacrifice their lives just to better inform us of the events ? All of them are soldiers in propaganda wars which now and then provoke real bloodsheds all over the world. Well paid soldiers by the way … We can do nothing each time the propaganda machines are switched on and they turn normal people to crazy crowds.

They are always involved in criminal and economical wars as well. Their smallest sin is that they also aggravate some facts to make the reports hotter. So why should we fell special compassion for them ? Why don’t the EU mass media go to Tripoli and make reports from beneath their own bombs ? Because they are soldiers of the hostile armies and thus their lives cost nothing here. So they have what deserve.
