mr.countryman, what are you talking about? of course it was a trap, a quite stupid one, I´d say.

but in the end, who cares, Serbia´s officials did the right thing. and the US should rather think twice before they act so foolishly again.

if you are underepresented in the region, do not lay out stupid traps, my friends.

just in case you didn´t realize it yet, others are quite eager to invest here, so the US are not in the position to play around...

you are only losing time. =)

What do you mean by Energy hub? Its not like the oil is going from Russia under ground to Serbia its passing many countries NATO countries (TURKEY, Bulgaria) so are they Energy Hubs as well as Well it will pass through (Croatia and Slovenia) to get to Austria.
Bilbao! You're living on Moon! NATO is good for small countries... not for Russia or China. Almost all your NATO countries in Europe depend on Russian gas and other energy. If in Bilbao is hot, then not all the NATO countries are in that hot spot. Remember Georgia and Osetia? What's about NATO? They badly need gas and no one can jump higher than their head.

Moon is not habitable but you should read my comment again. PIPELINE has to go through NATO countries hence it can not bring Serbia any power over NATO.

Russia is in business of Selling oil and since there are other alternatives ( as well many of Eu countries are working on Shale gas )

NATO is not going to war for Georgia since its more in Russian side of influence Do you think Russia will go to War with NATO for SERBIA really.
This was just about Energy hub which some claim Sebia is going to turn in to I was just clarifying that its not possible.

This is business stop talking about war.

what is wrong with this guy, Serbia is not represented there, end of the story. If these 400 hundred business men are willing to spend a dime in the region, then they are a lot of candidates, why focusing on Serbia non presence only !! He should better spend his energy in convining them to invest in Kosovo, unless Serbia became suddendly the first destination for US investment !!

“The Serbian government knows exactly what we think about this, but what’s more important is that they know what the state of Maryland thinks about this...” Countryman stressed.

The last couple of days just goes to show how difficult it is doing business with the US and their attitude towards Serbia (read the comment above by Countryman) and how seemingly exciting it is doing business with Russia.

Russia will make Serbia the energy Hub in the region, it supports our Kosovo stance and it will provide loans for infrastructure projects. That is what we need and not the type of obstacles the US keeps putting before us.

So now "Kosova", Montenegro and FYROM can all talk about trading their, ummm, let me think, hmmm, whatever it is they trade.

Not a chance Serbia will pull a Ukraina and stop the flow so I just do not understand how it will gain influence and over whom.

When are proud Balkan people going to learn that they are just small players in this world and not so important. So unless Serbia gets some huge oil reserve its not Energy hub.

May I ask Zoran are you living in Serbia since i do come often to Beograd and when I speak to people there they paint a different picture.

On this summit US business leaders will identify potential take-over targets, pay a lower price than the true value, take the wanted technology or the few key people, slowly dismantle the company and shortly after that close it. This is very common practice and in the end all is does is destroy higher level employment and make Balkan economies even more funerable.
