There are slums and prosperous parts in every country.
Google some of China's cities and have a look at them. Google any Asian city now and take a good look and see how backward they are. You will see they are not. You don't have to go anywhere these days. You can get images, maps, information on anything thanks to the internet. You can retire that old saying, go there and take a look because it no longer applies. Technology has enabled us to have a good view and enough information on anything we want.

Now google some of the not so nice areas in the US and compare them to good areas in China. Wouldn't be fair but that's exactly what you are trying to do.

Agreed, but he was elected by the Serbian people to be the president of Serbia, so the Serbian people should face the consequences of the choice they made. For analogy, Americans hated Bush at the end of his presidency, but it was them who voted him in office (not once, but twice) so they must suffer the consequences of the Bush's legacy because it was their choice.

Diplomacy can’t succeed without the use of force or the threat of the use of force, especially when you have to do with gangsters; it’s been tried and tried again and always failed. A well known military theorist, Clausewitz, wrote the famous sentence that “war is a continuation of diplomacy using other means”. Europe tried to solve the issue with diplomacy and Milosevic just played with it for years with endless talks because he knew that Europe was incapable of using force to stop a gangster. His miscalculation was that he thought that US was like Europe.

-- No Serb tanks, airplanes, army, are present. We elect our own people. We vote for our own constitution, rather than have others vote for a constitution that others have passed against our will. Milosevic was first and foremost a gangster, ruling over Serbia for his own personal power and wealth, and all the loyal foot soldiers around him. He was by no means a nationalist, or patriot. He cared little for the welfare of the Serbian nation, as history proved.

Agreed, but he was elected by the Serbian people to be the president of Serbia, so the Serbian people should face the consequences of the choice they made. For analogy, Americans hated Bush at the end of his presidency, but it was them who voted him in office (not once, but twice) so they must suffer the consequences of the Bush's legacy because it was their choice.


As for disliking the US, I think the Serbs have some just cause there. America imposed its will on the Serbian nation, tore it apart, killed its people, and destroyed its country. It did it with military might, because their attempts at diplomacy were an abysmal failure.

Diplomacy can’t succeed without the use of force or the threat of the use of force, especially when you have to do with gangsters; it’s been tried and tried again and always failed. A well known military theorist, Clausewitz, wrote the famous sentence that “war is a continuation of diplomacy using other means”. Europe tried to solve the issue with diplomacy and Milosevic just played with it for years with endless talks because he knew that Europe was incapable of using force to stop a gangster. His miscalculation was that he thought that US was like Europe.

Of course you have reason to, but it’s for your own fault. If I break the law and a police officer arrests me, of course I’ll dislike that police officer, but I can’t blame him; it was me who broke the law.

Kosovo (south western Serbia) was under Turkish occupation for 500 years. It wasn't politically IN Serbia but it WAS Serbia. Kosovo WILL ALWAYS be Serbia as long as the Serbian people still identify with it. If Kosovo was to be Albanian territory for the next 500 years, it WILL STILL BE SERBIA. Political 'realities on the ground' and international recognitions are IRRELEVENT. No matter who rules Kosovo, no matter who lives there, no matter what law is in effect - Kosovo Is Serbia.

Another deluded American who thinks this is the 1990s. Can we get someone from the US that actually lives in 2010 or is this a condition that all trailer living Americans suffer from?

The US is a near extinguished power that now runs around this planet telling anyone and everyone that they are really important, but it’s quite clear that there is nothing left in the proverbial “gas tank”.

Hilary Clinton is a ruthless and merciless individual – much like the shark in the ocean. She wanted to bomb Serbia to distract the US from Bill’s antics with Monica and nothing else. She neither likes nor dislikes Serbs or Albos – it was business. She did this for US advantage not to set the Albos “free’.

She is in Belgrade not because she wants to be there but has to resolve this Kosovo mess in the hope that the US would not throw more money down the drain, especially now with the financial crunch time on the horizon for the US. Look at all the US blustering over the Iranian Precedential visit to Lebanon and Israel making threats if he visits – well he is there right now and if this does not tell you the situation then go in believing in fairytales.

She has to make a deal with a small country – does that sound like the same superpower of the 1990s to you???????


America is a DECLINING not a FALLING super-power. You better pray to God that America doesn't fall-off over night because the entire globe will go into a depression. Very current history (2008-2010) should be a lesson for Serbs.

This is what the authorities in the US want their people and others in the west to believe. No the world will not go into a depression because action has already been taken to mitigate any fallout if he US goes belly up. For your information the US went into a depression in 2006, but they like to talk of a deep recession, ha, ha.

Here is another one for you – it was just announced that US Bankers have given themselves a huge pay rise and the US government will do nothing about it. Tells you a lot about who runs what over there and that the financial world does not give to hoots about the US economy just as long as they are making money while the people pick up the tab.

During the last 2000 years Romans, Byzantines, Bulgariansand Turks ruled Kosovo for longer periods than the Serbs did. There were also ccupations by Austrians, Italians and Germans
Kosovo became "Serbia" relativly late and was Serbian for a relatively short time. Serbs may identify themselves with Kosovo as much as hey want, but few others identify them with it.

Be glad to. You see, it's all window dressing. Good advertising will get you far. Hollywood is a great weapon and too many people fall for it.
Watching American shows will dumb you down and make you think that America is that good. Unfortunately too many people from Eastern Europe think what they see in shows is reality. They don't realise that unless you apply yourself and get a decent education you are not going to be better off in America. Homelesness and poverty are a sobering reality once they get there. If only they invested so much effort in making their lives better in their own country.

Of course I believe that stuff. I just called my cousins today to confirm this. Indeed there are no Serb tanks, military, airplanes, etc. You can confirm this too if you want. You're just one phone call away.

As for the US paying for institutions, how is that different from Serbia. They just paid a quarter billion euros about two weeks ago? It stinks for you as a Serb but the US is keeping you alive. The US is feeding your masses. The US is paying your institutions.

Ever thought why it is like that? If you are on a very low level, you can easily grow fast. Once you are saturated, the growth is slowing down. Only natural. The question is: How many years (or better: decades) will the developing nations need until they'll reach the typical standards of the average (western) countries?
