I will tell you what he is doing!! If you know anything about the economics of the area you would be a little more understanding... they are possibly working in the KPS to put bread on the table for their families.

The true colors of "multi-ethnic and tolerant" Kosovo. Very sad!

The US should not continue financing this little project of supporting hate-mongers.

Sad news. They are all going to be destroyed in a matter of weeks or months. Not years. None will surivie more than a year. By the end of 2011 none will be standing.

Protecting his community and earning a living in difficult circumstances. If he's not patrolling the streets that his people live in- then someone else. Get with it-Belgrade has surrendered KiM so the Serbs in Kosovo need to survive.

"KPS takes over security of Serb monastery"

Everything is rounding up to ONE THING - Kosovo institutions are slowly but surely are taking everything in their hands.

Thus serbs need to be aware that K-Alb are thinking well-being of serbian minority. Moreover, in North Kosovo, Serbian criminals should heed this and act peacefully to all reuests by the Kosovo government, as the latter are thinking how to improve their lives of all civilians (no matter nationality) in that part of Kosovo, OTHERWISE, MAKE NO MISTAKE that KPS Special forces are on stand by, extremely determined and serious to act, where arrests may be unavoidable.

So COOPERATE, become DECENT or LEAVE
(PRN, 5 August 2010 10:09)

Round and round it goes in the same well worn tracks that only the Albanians cannot see. This business of KP is nothing but a PR exercise. NO changes at all.

This is the United Sates of Windbags desperately trying to show some “progress”. Its all smoke and mirrors; rabbits out of a hat stuff. The so called Kosovo institutions are as near to taking control as I am of becoming President of the US.

A kind gesture by Haradinaj, Dim, protecting Serb monasteries - but, I hope he gets life in prison for murdering, and terrorizing Serbs and other minorities.

winston

Are historic monasteries in Kosovo the only place on earth that holy sites must be protected from the local majority (Albanians) by armed soldiers/police? really, is there another place? What does this say about the multi-ethnic and tolerant Kosovo that the US/EU, and their puppet Albanians, are promoting? Obviously, everytime that Thaqi and Sedjieu say peaceful, multi-ethnic society, they are lying. These endangered monasteries, that need to be protected around the clock from Albanian mobs, are proof.

Hey profa, I guess you didn’t bother actually reading to the end of the article (unless you’re calling the Gracanica Serb police “terrorists”)

“I just hope that Decani stays under international protection...”
(Jason, 5 August 2010 12:09)

Perhaps, but just remember that it was Haradinaj and the AAK that protected it from the mobs in 2004, and Decani publicly thanked them for that.

Is everyone missing the bigger picture? What does the fact that Serbian Orthodox churches have to be guarded by armed police (whatever nationality) say about Kosovo/Pristina?
In any case, Serbia should insist on 1244, which calls for Serbian police to guard the holy sights.

winston

All this story tells me is that NATO's resources are running thin in Kosovo. They will slowly pull out more troops and equipment. The Serbian army, with the Russian disaster units in Nis, will be ready at the borders, if the Albanians try and ruin one more Serbian monastery. This is getting interesting.

-- Did you bother to read the article? Gracanica is guarded by Serbs, which previously was guarded by no more than three Swedish soldiers at a time. Ivanovic doesn't think this poses a problem since Gracanica is populated by nearly 10,000 Serbs. You're clearly a confused person.

Waste of Government money. How about taking over the border in north? Who cares about these churches, its not that anyone is going to attack them. We got our Independence, we are getting recognized, if there is any threat its coming from north and KP should mostly pay attention to how much smuggling and the effect it has on Kosovo. KP in Gracanica take orders from Prishtina or they will have to seek a new job, as others have done and those in north awaites.

Zoran

Olf, believe what you like. If there was ever a test of loyalty then I think you will be surprised. I'm just glad that Serbians are guarding our monasteries.

It wasn't that long ago when Pristina wanted to send their "special clowns" up north to take care of the "KPS" there. You know, the ones taking orders from Belgrade.

Jason

This is no big issue considering Serb KPS will guard it and the monastery is safe in the middle of thousands or Serbs. The uncivilized barbarians that destroyed others will not be able to get to this one, not alive anyway.

I just hope that Decani stays under international protection...

Guarding the monestries are Serb and Albanian KPS forces. These guys train together and are colleagues, and they take no orders from BG, sorry.

NATO carefully designs a new war, as Runciman had foresaw.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steven_Runciman

"In particular, he was concerned about the Patriarchate of Pec, the monastery
at Decani, the cathedral at Prizren, and the nunnery of Gracanica. My last
telephone call to him was to report on my visit to Gracanica in June,
escorted by the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards. Runciman sighed: "If Gracanica
is, as you tell me, reduced to a Serb enclave, it is certain that some time
this century the Serbs will inaugurate military action to retake Kosovo.""

I hope they throw the terrorist out immediatly and patrol the area with a little help from the north.

since the municipality has a majority Serb population, and because the KPS members guarding the monastery will "mostly be Serbs".

I'm happy with that so long as NATO leaves Serbian territory. We have Serbians guarding the monastery who are dressed up in KPS uniforms but taking orders from Belgrade. Nice compromise :)
