"Media law worse than one from 1998"

Aleksandar Vučić believes that the <a href="http://www.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?yyyy=2009&mm=08&dd=31&nav_id=61460" class="text-link" target= "_blank">draft changes to the Law on Information</a> are much more restrictive than the legislation passed in 1998.

There is no such thing as free press anywhere.
It's what they don't print that matters as much as what they do.

Australia is very good at keeping information witheld.
Either way people only get what they are allowed to get no matter which country they live in.

No free press, no democracy.

The law is being passed because the pro-EU media is going to freak on the gov't because its moving away from the EU, hence the delegation to China & Libya, Medvedev's upcoming visit & many other eastward political manouvering to come as I PREDICTED 2 YEARS AGO.

Hmm it took Vucic over a decade to admit he was completely wrong to support that Information law and that the information law was purely designed to silence criticism of ruling politicians.

We all remember how many times journalists were taken to court and fined. It wasn't really about the court process, it was to deter criticism and to make editors think twice in criticising government policy.
