Here in Russia we value everybody who fought the fascists. And sure we know that Colonel Mikhailovich was the first to rebel against the Germans in the whole Europe. Only 2 months later J.Tito received a command from Moscow to join the war. And despite the propaganda when even in the USSR they minimized any info about the Chetniks we believe Draza to be a real hero. Same as Tito of course …

The problem is that the war against the Germans &Co in all occupied countries was accompanied with elements of civil wars and international conflicts. And sometimes partisans even in the USSR contacted the Nazi and made tactical bargains. Same did Armia Kraiova in Poland and possibly Tito & Mickhailovich. Besides it was not only Yugoslavian way when the partisans clashed each other.

But because it was Tito who grasped the power Mikhailovich has been declared a traitor. Nothing extraordinary. You will be surprised to know that in Poland partisan veterans of Armia Liudowa which fought well have almost no contacts with veterans of Armia Kraiova which almost did not fight the Germans. Besides in Poland the most outstanding Polish Generals to fight Germans ( Rokossovski and Bering ) are considered today as traitors…

So the Chetniks’ matter is not an extraordinary one. The thing is that in Europe before 1944 outside the USSR and Yugoslavia there was no partisan movement at all. All those “how I won the war stories” were written after 1945. I feel sorry that Stalin let the Poles to revenge the Germans during Berlin Operation and did not allow the Yugoslavians do the same. Whatever they say Yugoslavian partisans were the only ones to povide us real help during the whole war. I appreciate them all and Draza was the one to initiate this movement !

So on the eve of our joint Great Victory we must clean the names of our heroes. Only then young Serbs and Russians will be ready to die for their Fatherlands !

Long live the Serbian spirit not to obey !

Any stories regarding colaboration with Nazi's is a TOTAL lie. If you ask any survivors of the Chetniks their biggest ENEMY was the Nazis/Ustashe. Why would the Nazis offer a reward for the capture of Draza DEAD or ALIVE if he was working with them? Why would he have saved over 500 US Airmen? Why do Croats and Muslims TILL this VERY day call a Serb a Chetnik if they side against them. Croats & Muslims were and still are willing Nazi collaborators. The only thing they regret about the 2nd world war wasn't that they were Nazi allies, but that they LOST.

Draza is a legend no matter what the communists of the era said about him.
