Ataman, I usually read and enjoy your unbiased posts, but this one I really don't understand.
Are you saying that just because this man is rich he is honest and trustworthy?

I am sure that "Bagdad-Bob" that was a minister for information during Saddams regime also held some awards from some universitys, that did'nt make what he said any more true...

I remember Jamie Shea in live television spewing out his hate that Milosevic had his police murder Ibrahim Rugova... a day later he was seen shaking hands with Milosevic, even that Jamie Shea easily explained as "disinformation"

But I do have to give him some credit in lying and bluffing, I would'nt sit down with him in a game of poker, I suspect his bluffing skills are exellent. He could easily have a good future as a politician!

Hi again Zoran

I think the western politicians understood Milosevic well and were determined to stop any repeat of the evil involvement in Bosnia. Milosevic was well known for being 'clever' - prone to saying what suited the moment. (In other words a liar.) Do you really blame the west for playing him at his own game?

Politically the west had no choice but to act - there was enormous pressure on them.

All the newest roads to NATO's and American salvation lead to Serbia and the Middle East.

Does anyone out there know or cares what that means?

Zoran

pre 15 godina

Bob, so you can understand why NATO bombed Serbia? How so? Because they lied about 100,000 dead or because Milosevic didn't sign the Rambouillet agreement, which would have allowed NATO to occupy all of Yugoslavia. Don't try and justify it by ethnic cleansing either because the Albanians were firmly in Kosovo and only started leaving after the bombing started. Those are facts, not propaganda.

There is no justification for the illegal bombing and there is no justification for the war crimes committed.

Serbia has already admitted to crimes and the now president has apologied. Nothing from the other sides though and their crimes remain unpunished. But you can understand why?

Zoran - should anti-NATO comments sound like they are a continuation of the Milosevic propaganda then no one is going to take them seriously.

Serbia (unfortunately) allowed itself to become a pariah in the eyes of the world because of lack of sensitivity about the harm done to others - it therefore sounds a bit self-serving to criticise those who felt it necessary to stop Milosevic doing the same kind of things again.

I want Serbia to win its arguments - but it will not get anywhere without first admitting fault in the things that happened. Whether it was right or wrong, I can understand why the bombing took place - and I blame Milosevic for letting it happen.

However, I do not see any reasoned case for the support for the UDI - that is unjustified and wrong.

Criticism of NATO that is preceded by some good honest self confession is much more likely to be listened to.

It's true that every bomb dropped will leave its' consequences and ussually it's the civilians who pay the price.
However this was one of the ways to stop ethnic cleansing of Albanians in Kosova.
Serbs have to blame themselves for supporting Milosevic who brought NATO bombs in downtown Belgrade.

And we are supposed to be friends and join organizations of these criminals who bombed us, criminals who would not even say sorry or pay for the war damage?! Shame, that for a few dollars our politicians and people can be bought off...

Zoran

Bob, since Serbians have been dealt an unfair proportion of selective justice for a very long time now, we have every right to criticise NATO and others who committed war crimes against us.

It is shameful that NATO war crimes go unpunished. This needs to be highlighted as much as possible so those criminals can be brought to justice.

Bob

It is a bit one-sided to just report on who NATO killed. There were many others killed by the waring factions - including Serbs, but including all the other nationalities too.

Whatever the rights and wrongs, let every Serb who criticizes NATO for what it did, stop and consider for a moment that there are others who legitimately criticise what Serbs did.

On the other hand, let no Albanian think that there is any moral high ground - they were ethnically cleansing Serbs long before Milosevic.

Also, let NATO realise that they were too singular in their criticism of Serbia - the other countries caused the problems and were also implicated in atrocities.

Also let NATO also consider that the whole break up of Yugoslavia was (at worst) engineered and (at the least) encouraged by NATO countries.

Too disgraceful for words.

Rest in peace all those who lost their lives so pointlessly and so despicably. And to those who were wounded, made homeless or lost loved ones, I hope that you have also found some peace and safety.

It makes you wonder how people like Jamie Shea can sleep at night.
