guys,
leave the past to historians. I hoe they will be beter then once they have educated all of us to hate eachother just because someone is called Albanian or Serb. I am sure the pain is the same. As mothers of inocent guys killed they suffer the same. Who started all this it is clear you just look back 15 years ago Slovenia, Croatia, BiH, Kosovo and even Serbia itself. Please move forward and spend your eneregy on something more productive then this.

EA, few questions:
You wrote: "I thought there was a video against the Serbian civilian. That would have worried me."
1. Are you scared that there exists a video of such an attack?
2. How many of Serbian casualties in Kosovo were civilians? Who killed these people?
3. Did all members of the KLA wear uniforms?
4. Was the recent killing of British soldiers in Northern Ireland an act of terrorism? Is a killer member of the Real IRA a terrorist?
5. In 1998 the United States special envoy to the Balkans, Robert Gelbard, said the KLA has committed acts of terrorism. Like on the 22nd of April 1996. But was is an act of self-defence?

my dear albanian friends...
why so desperately trying to play this new evidence down?
they certainly won´t come up with youtube-video´s I´d say.
and it´s rather interesting that they hold back evidence in order to present it when needed, you could call that salami-tactics.
very good, as far as I am concerned.
that means there will be some FRESH and IMPRESSIVE material in the minds of the members of the international court when they get down to decide...
while the K-albanians get crazy about a "recognition" by Palau (!), the Serbs are scoring quietly - good, very good....let´s just see who will laugh in the end...

No way! You mean the KLA killed Serb soldiers? I don't know whether to laugh or cry at the naivety of this article. It was an open GUERRILLA conflict folks...that's what happens, the army gets attacked, Serbian soldiers get killed. Where is the news here? The video of the Koshare attack has been on the internet for ages. I guess the Serb prosecutor is so desperate he is going around the internet collecting videos and photos and claiming them to be "newly discovered evidence".

Sorry Ataman, you lost me there.
Are you trying to tell me that you don’t know who Adem Jashari is?
He is the birth father of KLA.
I would like to know where did you read that his family was killed by his own extended family!!
I really believe that you have not done your homework here.

Zyrtar,
Sue whatever you want. Serbia tried to sue NATO for the billions of Euros damaged by the destruction of mainly industrial and civilian infrastructure, but the biased ICJ was forced by NATO and the EU to throw this out. At this point of time Serbia cannot sue its own province, but in the unlikely case that the ICJ will decide that the UDI was valid you can be sure that Serbia will sue Kosovo into complete bankruptcy for the lost investments and other properties (and I am sure that the EU and the US will not bail you out). Most Albanians and Serbs in Kosovo were fleeing from the NATO bombs and fighting between the KLA (the ones who had not fled into Albania) and the JNA (whose losses were minimal). It is also well-known that the whole exodus of Albanians to Albania and Macedonia was a big set up. Refugee services were set up way in advance and so the whole thing was a big hoax. So what economic loss did Albania have? Most help came from NATO (that was already in Albania) and the UNHCR. Serbia can sue Albania for harboring, training, and supplying terrorists. How about the 250,000 Serbs that were cleansed from Krajina? It is well known that in the Croatian army many Albanians from Kosovo were serving.
pre 16 godina
As far as it is known and I did not see it disputed, Jashari extended family (all, but one young girl) was mostly killed by Jashari extended family. Jashari was also reported by his Albanian peers to go on shooting rampage against Serbs once he was drunk.
Sorry, that's what I did read recently. I did not even know who was Jashari until a week ago. The sources I did read weren't looking like strongly pro-Serbian. If that's the case, he was hardly a hero, rather a troubled, distorted person and of course a war criminal.
pre 16 godina
Instead of apologizing to the people it still claims to be its citizens, for the internationally recognized crimes against humanity, it takes steps to deteriorate the situation.
This will not be appreciated by the international community, especially the EU. If anything, if Serbia was to take such an action, it will set itself up for another lawsuit brought against it by Albania for the enormous economic damage created by the 400,000 refugees that were sent fleeing to Albania by the state structures of Serbia. The bill for Serbia will most certainly be enormous; several billion Euros, according to some estimates.
But, certainly cool heads in Serbia will prevail in order to prevent this auto goal.

Someone correct me, but didn't Mr. Ramadani (may he rest in peace) attack the border sometime in the second quarter of '99, at which time, as the article points out, it was a state of war? I don't see how this can be a crime, since the people he allegedly attacked were uniformed personnel...
Or has the Mickey Mouse Serbian War Crimes Prosecution become so insultingly ridiculous? How about they shut up and gather all the proof they can get their hands on, then hold a press conference and reveal their findings to the public, or does that make too much sense? This sounds like paparazzi/gossip extravaganza, not dealing with solving where missing people are ... for shame!
pre 16 godina
It's also funny that for a region where all wars are "legit" wars fought in self-defence, there's an overabundance of individuals accused of war crimes.
pre 16 godina
Absurd. The report claims this led to "full-scale war" the next year. Short memories. There had already been 6 months of full scale war that year before this attack on the army in September 1998. During those 6 months the Serbian army had killed many (at least) K Albanians, largely civilians, starting with the massive "collective punishment" of 57 members of the Jashari family whose village was burt and destroyed in March 1998 by this army. Of course the KLA were fighting a legit war.
pre 16 godina
To all you Albanians out there. The Yugoslav army and Serbian police were combating an internationally labeled terrorist group in Kosovo province (KLA). Of course both sites can claim self defense in case of gun exchanges. All was accepted by The West until the KLA started to terrorize Albanians in Kosovo (including cleansing (you cannot call it ethnic cleansing if you do it to your own people)) and blame others plus The West saw the KLA as a good tool for their policies. However, I would like to remind you that in you master's country (the US of A) people are sentenced to death or life in jail for killing a simple cop. Serbia or the families of the killed soldiers can even sue Albania for not putting any effort to evict terrorist from its soil. I am just waiting for the day when EULEX will find the courage to start arresting KLA members and sentencing them for their crimes. Remember, if they will not do it Serbia will one day.
pre 16 godina
Kind of funny in that after reading this I thought "how many Albanians are going to be playing the 'it was self-defense' card." I'm glad to see our colleagues here never fail to be as painfully predictable as possible. Next thing you know will be "those Serbs just walked into a scalpel. The first military actions of KLA started in 1996 and you are bringing a case of 1998 that shown nothing more than what is happening in any war- people shoot people.
If Mr Vakaric ‘youtubes’ more he will find more “evidences” for his war-crime case or real evidences on how Kosova was finally liberated.
Of course if you send this kind of “evidences” to any serious international court they will laugh in your face- quite embarrassing…
Perhaps these “evidences” show why Hague after thorough investigation CLOSED the so called case of organ trafficking and why the EC rep. that should again investigate this issue is somehow missing his planes to visit Burell and Belgrade.
But anyhow, your “evidences” just tool me 5 min and I don’t think they deserve more time- and I am in good company of serious persecutors as the one at Hague and perhaps EC.

It is well known that in the Croatian army many Albanians from Kosovo were serving.

guys,
leave the past to historians.

It's also funny that for a region where all wars are "legit" wars fought in self-defence, there's an overabundance of individuals accused of war crimes.

"In the attack in question, this Kosovo Albanian armed group ambushed Yugoslav Army (VJ) soldiers, killing five and injuring two."

I really believe that you have not done your homework here.

my dear albanian friends...
why so desperately trying to play this new evidence down?
they certainly won´t come up with youtube-video´s I´d say.
and it´s rather interesting that they hold back evidence in order to present it when needed, you could call that salami-tactics.
very good, as far as I am concerned.
that means there will be some FRESH and IMPRESSIVE material in the minds of the members of the international court when they get down to decide...
while the K-albanians get crazy about a "recognition" by Palau (!), the Serbs are scoring quietly - good, very good....let´s just see who will laugh in the end...

Whats most amaising is that what he discovered (as usually from sources in Albania) is connected to the organ trading case. Don't blame him its tough times.
This guy is desperately truing to justify his position to avoid being unemployed during the crisis.

I love how the Albanians pick and choose what what would have liked to have happened.
1. tracy, "self defense" when it was an ambush? and then
2.John "There were over 10,000 Kosovars killed by Serbian troops. Is the war crimes prosecutor looking for their murderers?" and then
3. Ben "war- people shoot people"
Oh and the fact you wont admit the KLA were in bed with Alkida and the teliban.
