Well ZK, show me an example where the minorities didn't pay for the electricity and they still used it for 10 years! Is there a such case in the world? I think there is NOT!

Now, let's face the truth. I'm a regular tax-payer. I pay the electricity bills every month, a thing that is not very usual in Kosova! But, when the KEK decides to cut the electricity, I will not be spared, regardless of the payment. And I can't complain because I know nothing will change! So, if I, as a regular tax-payer, do not complain about electricity shortages, how come someone that didn't pay a dime since 1999 complains for not having electricity?! People, even electricity is a product that you have to buy if you want to use it! Get used to it!

What's stopping the Serbs from working? Most likely discrimination and absence of any job opportunities. If this is supposed to be paradise on earth, one dreads to think what hell is like!

Nelli, please really question what your writing before you write it. For example... you mention these other minorities such as croats. Are you aware that the croats are almost totally cleansed out of kosovo? They're almost not there anymore. The ones that are there have little if any voice to be able to do anything, and nobody cares for them. Gorani are in a terrible position. Heck, we can notice that the only minority to whom the albanians are doing anything good to is serbs, and only so because of the international community. What good, setting up some autonomous units and whatnot. At the other time the non-serb minorities are left behind to die off or flee. The gorani for example had their autonomous unit taken away - or more like had a bunch of albanians added to it so that they will not be anywhere near the majority in it so they have no say in matters. Just 'cause there is little reporting of non-serb minorities does not mean that they do not have problems... they are by far in a worse position. And for one to assume that they are doing good, like you assumed, is a sign of severe ignorance.

How come it's only the serb minority who have problems in Kosova, look at other minorities Turkish, Bosniak, Croat, Ashkali, Gorani, they never complain because they pay their bills just like the Albanian majority.

Let's see now. Turks and Croats are your partners in crime (mates). The Turks have even given you their religion.
Gorani, well you have just burned down their school so I seriously doubt that they don't have anything to complain about.

They are not supported by anyone much so their voices just don't get heard.

Why don't we take a look at how people in Serbia are. Croats (not friendly to Serbs) live quite well and problem free. Muslims live well too as nobody is making them live behind barbed wire. Jews are fine, Chinese are doing quite well. Hungarians in Vojvodina (no problems). Even the Albanians are not persecuted.

The only people you can tolerate are Turks and Croats but look at all those people in Serbia and more.

Don't you dare try to preach tolerance from the Albanian society and say that Serbs are hostile. It's obvious who is what.

Good move, should have cut electricity long time ago. Stealing electricity is a crime, even if you happen to be a Serbian.

Wonder if an Albanian village in Presevo stole electricity, would it be tolerated for years just to look a good boy with minorities.

Bold move Kosovo...

If I remember correctly agim, the Serbian Government said similar things to your peoples in the 80s and 90s. The Kosovar Albanians didn't respect the laws fully either. This was how Kosovar Albanians were gifted Kosovo. Perhaps this will be how it is returned to its rightful legal owner

daily If I remember correctly during 90s it was even worse. I can't say anything for 80s but yes during 90s I was young teenager and I remember damn well how the electrician guy would cut the electric wires because the Albanian family couldn't afford to pay(everyone was forced out of work "Milosevic regime"). I've seen that kind of picture few times and heard/read about it few thousand times, it happened in and around the city of Ferizaj (36km south from Prishtina).

Ok i can see both sides of the argument here, however there are many albanians who dont pay there bill either. If these Serbs are unemployed then can they get help from the state? like people do in the UK???

Putting differences aside whos albanian or Serb with the current economic climate there is a danger of civil unrest and this can apply to all people in poverty be it Serb or Albanian.

We have seen this already in France and the UK.

What is needed is for common people Serb and Albanian to work together do you really think your leaders (Serb/ALbanian) really care about the common man/women.

Lazar

Well there are two things at play. The first is that any electrical production in Kosovo is there because of Serbian investment and construction of the things that generate that electricity, be it the thermal powerplant complex in Obilic, or other sources. Second, kosovo is so poor and hopeless that not even albanians have enough electricity for themselves.

It seems that the Albanians in Kosovo province have forgotten that for many many years all of Yugoslavia and Serbia were paying for most of their bills, infrastructure, and so on. Maybe it is time to send the temporary illegal provincial "leadership" or their international masters the bill for those years. The sign of a lack of basic education is a bad and selective memory that certain visitors of this former Serbian site are able to display day after day. According to the Kosovo Serbs and many legal governments in the world they still live in Serbia and so they have the right to obey the Serbian law and constitution. When the Albanians in Kosovo decided to boycott Serbia and Yugoslavia nobody forced them to do anything. You want to live like in Albania. Go ahead, but remember that Albanian laws do not apply in Serbia and Yugoslavia. It is quite funny to read that Albanians write about paying bills while they have no clue what that is. Who do you think is paying your bills now? The EU, US, and NATO. The only reason why they do not send you a bill is because the occupied territory is of important geopolitical importance and because the West will never admit that it was completely wrong to support you for your fake cause. If, and I mean if in the hypothetical case that the ICJ decides that the UDI is actually legal and Kosovo could become independent you people can expect that Serbia will sue you into bankruptcy when they will claim to be compensated for all money that has been invested into Kosovo. There is no free lunch. Unfortunately many Serbian politicians think that the EU is an all-you-can-eat buffet for a small price.

This is what happens when criminals are given power and attempt to pressure others into recognising the illegal and immoral entity that they are. We all know the Serbians will never succumb so it's time the internationals got involved and properly enforce the functional partition.

'GOOD, shows who the boss is. Live in Kosova, obey Kosova laws. '

With respect I don't think that many people obey Kosovo laws, so why should ethnic minorities be the ones penalised? I'd start with the crooks at the top, in Serbia, Kosovo, US or wherever. Of course everybody should be subject to the same treatment, but then again we all know that this should be the case and that practice is something quite different.

If you can't agree with me then look at it this way. If Kosovo Albanians want to try to get Serbs in Kosovo to turn away from Belgrade and towards Pristina, do they think this will help?

No, I suspect there is an element of wanting to teach Kosovo Serbs a lesson. When will you people understand that you cannot just disregard the lives / feelings of those that you call the citizens of your country. Or you can, but then don't expect them ever to cooperate with you...

Shocking isn't it? 10 years of free electricity is more than enough. No more subsidies for minorities.

This is just a horrible use of power from the Kosovo Government. They've placed these poor people in ghettos, living behind barbed wire for their own saftey. They do not have the money to pay and so the Kosovo Government, a so-called world leader in democratic terms is embarking upon a human rights disaster.

Good move, should have cut electricity long time ago. Stealing electricity is a crime, even if you happen to be a Serbian.

Wonder if an Albanian village in Presevo stole electricity, would it be tolerated for years just to look a good boy with minorities.

Bold move Kosovo...

"I think I know what they want but unfortunately it's not a part of Kosova's Constitution. Who's stopping the Serb minority from working and progressing towards a better life?
(Nelli_Canada, 30 January 2009 23:03) "

What's stopping the Serbs from working? Most likely discrimination and absence of any job opportunities. If this is supposed to be paradise on earth, one dreads to think what hell is like!

Or you can, but then don't expect them ever to cooperate with you...

oh... so KEK keeps selling the electrity abroad, i see the game is the same since 1999, too many people do not pay electricity in kosovo, but look, main culprit is the international administration, too many bloody rats have speculated over the electrity and the UN-EU money that has been thrown into kosovo budget, ...ah i guess ethem ceku is enjoying himself in some restaurant in pristina.....

"Dardania, don't you have anything good to say about anything other than long live kosovo? I find it amazing that this site lets you continue to post your anti-serb rants."

we really should stop responding to these and then see what B92 lets though their 'filters'. or since some of these posters actually believe that they descendants of illyrian tribes we should start throwing the same kind of stuff out there, like; we are descendants of anciant vincas, romans and moesians. heck, my great-great-great grandpa was constantine who started chritianity in the roman empire. or the albanians could just realize that they stole serbian land and everything on it, including the power transmission lines that were built before their udi...
