Smile, your post was the most balanced out of all Serbian posters here. I very much appreicate the deeds of those officers that took the survivors to the hospital and because of them they are living today to tell what happened. I believe its stories like this that need to be more emphacised than the stories of killings and massacring. Having said that, we should not totally forget about our ugly past. We should bring all those responsible to justice regardless of their nationality.

I am albanian myself, and i am not denying that there have been or may have been innocent serbs killed as well. Like you said it is hard to contron everyone with a gun in a time of war. But what is outmost critical is for everyone to realize that yes crimes did occur and yes there was crimes on both sides and how to best come about to bring these individuals to justice. It is easier said than done, I know. But it starts with realizing that YES there was crimes.

in podujevo that day people were rounded up from several houses, forced in the street, then forced back into the yard again where they were shot at. there was a lot chaotic activity. the survivours in the article are this person testifying and three others if i'm not mistaken.

now the point of podujevo is that a bunch of paramilitaries suddenly went berserk as you do in war sometimes and killed innocent people for no reason. another point is that regular policemen, well not regular, special, but lets say official policemen in fact saved the wounded kids. mup sent the paras back to prolom banja immediately. this was a tragic incident. saj officers literally turned their backs on the paras for 10 minutes when this happened. one of the reasons why war is so horrible is precisely becuase there is no way to make it fair and clean and avoid lapses into irrational behaviour and because you certainly cant control everyone with a gun. i'm immensely proud of our policemen who saved the wounded kids and of our courts with this case now.
now. i only wish that our serbs who were kidnapped in kosovo after the war was already over, in monstrous cold blood and in a premeditated way, taken to albania and held there for weeks before their organs were taken and they were killed, i wish that those hundreds of serb victims also had one albanian who acted like a human being and saved them and helped them. but no. no serb witnesses survived from yellow houses of horror and they will not be appearing in courts to tell their story.
lets at least hope that someone's conscience in albania wakes up now and they say what they know and help bring to justice kla torturers and killers of hundreds of kosovo serb civilians.

Of course it is all a lie GV!!!!
We al know that she killed her mother, her two brothers and her relatives’.
Then of course she shot herself 13 times in the arm to cover her actions.
Oh yes she also lied that she was 13 at the time when we al know that she was 30 and a well known mass murderer.
Does this story seem more viable to you??
I don’t get one thing though. How does it come that the other Serb soldiers did not arrest her at the time for her massacre!!

Did any of you Albanians actually read my entire post or did you only get as far as the first two lines and seer red?

The first two lines are meant as sarcasm. This is something the Albanians say whenever there is an accusation against them, only turn it into Serbian propaganda.

Second, I never condoned what happened. I said that this girl is being heard by the Serbs and the guilty Serbs will be punished unlike your lot who go on being elected to government.

Now read my post again and stop looking so silly by distorting what I actually said.

Something here doesn't add up. I really can't understand this.

If "firing broke out" how did a soldier manage to take them behind a house and shoot them?

Very articulate roberto,

but tell me if the Serb justice sistem is so bad why are suspected war criminals being sentenced ???
Because its not any longer a Milosevic dictatorship but a democracy that respects law and order !
Now look at the "Kosovo government" and Haradinaj!
This animal killed 9 i repeat 9 !!! witnesses (his fellow Albanians) and god knows how many people during the war.And what were the consequences ?Nothing,he was released and Albanians consider him a hero.

The fact is:it is indisputed that we Serbs killed much more Albanians during the war than vice versa but our war criminals are being sentenced while their war criminals are free and considered heroes.

it is soooo hard not to go on the counter-attack, exactly as i am attacked in these pages, day after day, each of their attacks and lies fully printed. it takes every bit of will power not to do it, but in this case i will not.

i happen to know saranda personally, and her family. not by accident -- we found them, and they are really wonderful people. but she--saranda-- is such an amazing young woman, talented, articulate, a person devoid of hate, who really has been thru hell, and has not been destroyed by it. if i can ever believe in a god, ironically, it is here, that in the midst of such evil and ugliness, some victims managed to survive, and even blossom.

and i love her manchester accent :))

and as i have pointed out so very many times (but of course some choose not to read, listen or learn) this trial or shall i say trials are not being brought to us courtesy of the "enlightened" serbian regime (!) but because people like natasa kandic, one of the great women of serbia despite the libels lobbed against her in these pages) pushed and pushed and pushed to make these trials happen. and because the blgd regime is always under pressure to at least meet minimal intl standards, which of course it does NOT.

and how many threats have been made, against the victims while in blgd, and ag. the few witnesses who, whatever their pasts, have had the moral decency or imperative to speak the truth, thereby branding them as "traitors" to all of the serb natinalists who are so ubiquitous, here, and there.

eventually the truth does surface, even after so many years and so much hate. i hope that NO one is bullied or coerced into silence by the never-ending hate of the nationalists.

democracy, justice -- they are very abstract concepts, but also very concrete, in the end. never give up, never give in. our eyes are on the prize.

Always blaming others for everything that is wrong with your people and your "country". You never take responsibilities for your wrong doings and your insufficiencies. You have pretty much stated that serbs and albanians can't live together, yet you want the serbian dominated north of Kosovo to join Kosovo albanian institutions. If it's so horrible to live in Serbia why are the albanians in Presevo still there? If they are under a dictatorship regime why not flee somewhere else, preferably to their country of origin, Albania? If the current serbian government are warcriminals why aren't they in the Haag? Your hatred for other people, especially the serbs, have proven to me that Kosovo has to be split along ethnic lines. If it was up to me I would build a Israeli-like wall along the border with albanians areas so that you could never again steal land that belongs to the serbian people. So that you can never again throw granades at playing children and desecrate our ancient monasteries and churches.

This was the war in Kosova.

War against children’s and civilians. Brave army you had.

In the front page of b92 you can also read the Bytici case.

The bodies of Bytici brothers were found in mass grave with other 67 K-Albanians buried in mass grave in Serbia. Then you will notice a story about a truck full of killed K-Albanians found even further into northern Serbia.

The story is focused on Bytici case and forgets other 67 cases of the same mass-grave and other cases of the truck...

The operation was thought and ordered by highest state officials of Serbia: sanitisation.

Who hides the bodies???

The murderers!

The workers of the municipality called to hide dead bodies- can you imagine??? And they still believe to have done patriotic job- only one of them is speaking???

We will never be part of a murderer state again, never.

Is there international law that obliges me to live in the same country where the highest officials of which planned and executed killing of my children’s???

And the same high officials are still in very high positions of the state security apparatus- read the Bytici case???

In a country where the same political power and people that were giving political and moral coverage to these killers is still the major political party in Serbia and won several free elections???

Is there an international law that can oblige me to live with these murderer’s???

NO NEVER.

“Honour” to Russia and to who still helps to hide these killers and wants to leave the martyr Kosova on their mercy.

MikeC

Regardless of who suffered in this war the perpetrators need to be brought to justice, on all sides. In this case albanians were the victims, however, this does not mean albanians had the right to kill serbs and get away with it, like the case with several ablanians who were set free because of vitnesses that were paid or to afraid to testify. Unfortunately, there is a feeling among many serbs that war crimes didn't take place in the name of the serbian nation and most albanians think it was justified to kill of serbs after and during NATO intervention in Kosovo.

If you only meant it Peggy!!!!
And I absolutely love your last sentence.
Peggy, we bare the scars of the Serbian Justice system. Thousands and thousands of our family members were found in mass graves thanks to your justice system.
Personally I find your comment a pure propaganda comment (I can see that you have been trained by the master – Milosevic, a person that you respect and protect so much).

in podujevo that day people were rounded up from several houses, forced in the street, then forced back into the yard again where they were shot at. there was a lot chaotic activity. the survivours in the article are this person testifying and three others if i'm not mistaken.

now the point of podujevo is that a bunch of paramilitaries suddenly went berserk as you do in war sometimes and killed innocent people for no reason. another point is that regular policemen, well not regular, special, but lets say official policemen in fact saved the wounded kids. mup sent the paras back to prolom banja immediately. this was a tragic incident. saj officers literally turned their backs on the paras for 10 minutes when this happened. one of the reasons why war is so horrible is precisely becuase there is no way to make it fair and clean and avoid lapses into irrational behaviour and because you certainly cant control everyone with a gun. i'm immensely proud of our policemen who saved the wounded kids and of our courts with this case now.
now. i only wish that our serbs who were kidnapped in kosovo after the war was already over, in monstrous cold blood and in a premeditated way, taken to albania and held there for weeks before their organs were taken and they were killed, i wish that those hundreds of serb victims also had one albanian who acted like a human being and saved them and helped them. but no. no serb witnesses survived from yellow houses of horror and they will not be appearing in courts to tell their story.
lets at least hope that someone's conscience in albania wakes up now and they say what they know and help bring to justice kla torturers and killers of hundreds of kosovo serb civilians.

"This is the difference between Albanian justice system and Serbian justice system."

So how many such trials is Serbia holding...10,000-12,000 Albanians were killed in cold blood by Serbs. Check the Bajtanica for mass graves again after you indict for that

it is soooo hard not to go on the counter-attack, exactly as i am attacked in these pages, day after day, each of their attacks and lies fully printed. it takes every bit of will power not to do it, but in this case i will not.

i happen to know saranda personally, and her family. not by accident -- we found them, and they are really wonderful people. but she--saranda-- is such an amazing young woman, talented, articulate, a person devoid of hate, who really has been thru hell, and has not been destroyed by it. if i can ever believe in a god, ironically, it is here, that in the midst of such evil and ugliness, some victims managed to survive, and even blossom.

and i love her manchester accent :))

and as i have pointed out so very many times (but of course some choose not to read, listen or learn) this trial or shall i say trials are not being brought to us courtesy of the "enlightened" serbian regime (!) but because people like natasa kandic, one of the great women of serbia despite the libels lobbed against her in these pages) pushed and pushed and pushed to make these trials happen. and because the blgd regime is always under pressure to at least meet minimal intl standards, which of course it does NOT.

and how many threats have been made, against the victims while in blgd, and ag. the few witnesses who, whatever their pasts, have had the moral decency or imperative to speak the truth, thereby branding them as "traitors" to all of the serb natinalists who are so ubiquitous, here, and there.

eventually the truth does surface, even after so many years and so much hate. i hope that NO one is bullied or coerced into silence by the never-ending hate of the nationalists.

democracy, justice -- they are very abstract concepts, but also very concrete, in the end. never give up, never give in. our eyes are on the prize.

TO PEGGY

i cant belive your comment is been posted on b92. this is so offending post, we are talking about people been killed in front of the children,

for me this a sad story to hear from you peggy, but then iv been reading lots of comments on b92 and you are very much anti albanian,

for me who ever kills civilians should be brought to justice, no matter what the nationalty. killer is a killer he should be punished.

hope one day there could be peace betwen those 2 nations.
