This news 'item' fails to inform the reader:

1: Who is funding this 'all news' channel?

Is it:

a) The Serbian tax payer?
b) Private Serbian business?
c) Foreign interests (such as the EC, private 'humanitarian organizations such as 'Freedom House' etc.)?
d) Some combination of the above?

2: The cost of this 'service'?

3: Transparency, i.e.:

a) Who is responsible for editorial policy?
b) What mechanisms are in place to ensure total impartiality?
c) financial information regarding B92, i.e. profit and loss, who provides how much and when etc.
d) actual control of such a service.

4: The business case for such a service?

Frankly I'm amazed that B92 provides so little information about its finances and its backers. As an organization that prides itself on being open and impartial, this is a gaping hole.

How can the Serbian citizen have any trust in such an organization without full and proper disclosure by B92?
