"

Perhaps you might like to inform UN that 1244 is not in effect ;)

You should take your own advice.. as you certainly don't know what you're talking about. 777 (1992) merely says that 'rump' Yugoslavia must re-apply for it's seat in the UN after break-up. Did so in 2000. 777 no longer applies.

Mike:

Serbs in Kosovo prior to K-albanian UDI were citizens of Serbia - they merely wish to now remain so as should be their right. Accepting any idea of 'regional autonomy' as part of a 'pseudo' K-albanian state disregards this.

Olf, your questions are certainly valid:

"If this happens, will Serbia recognise the Independence of Kosova?"

That's a tough call. If Kosovo becomes like Bosnia (one state with two governments), I certainly would recognize as it gives maximum autonomy to both sides. Whether Belgrade sees that or not is another story, but again, I'd accept it as it recognizes the realities on the ground, takes the drawn battle lines and places political authority within each.

"What will happen to Presheva, Bujanoc and Medvegja since they ignore the Serbian authorities?"

Well I've always said if it's good enough for K-Albanians, it's good enough for K-Serbs. But if it's good enough for K-Serbs, it should be good enough for P-Albanians. If Kosovo Serbs get regional autonomy and strong links to Belgrade, we should certainly look to the Valley and provide similar, if not equal rights to them.

"Will EU still exist after this?"

I'm sure the EU will not only continue to exist, but actually strengthen. Pragmatism always wins out over stubborness.

The bigger question is, does the UN exist after this?
I say disband the UN, and make every man for himself. That's the way things are going..

Mike that might be a possible scenario. Though I have few questions here;

If this happens, will Serbia recognise the Independence of Kosova?

What will happen to Presheva, Bujanoc and Medvegja since they ignore the Serbian authorities?

Will EU still exist after this?

At the end it will look similar as it does with both China and Taiwan when it comes to the United Nations.

- People's Republic of China is seen officially as the country representing both China and Taiwan by about 170 states. Taiwan is seen as the representative of China and Taiwan by approximately 20 states.

- Serbia will be seen as the official representative states of both Serbia and Kosovo by most of the world, only difference from the later is that Kosovo will not be seen as a respresentative nation of both Kosovo and Serbia, but will also be left outside the UN (like Taiwan) with about 40-50 UN states actually recognizing it.

Not that it is the end of the world for Kosovo, Taiwan is not in the UN but it is not struggling at all.

"Kosova is indivisible. Any partition of Kosova will destabilise the whole region and that will not be allowed by the international commom=uty and Kosovar Albanians who has put the faith and hope on them. "

What possible justification can K-albanians have for claiming the parts of Kosovo, in which serbs are a majority, and which are adjacent to Serbia proper?

Indivisible.. why?

Destabilisation of the region.. how does claiming serb territory in the north prevent this?

I personally would think that ceding the north to Serbia proper would have the opposite effect. By attempting to force the serbs in the north against their will into your 'pseudo-state', you create the very instability you say you want to prevent.

This is blindingly obvious!

Will certainly be interested in your answers to these 3 questions..

mr ban is slowly realizing that the UDI was a big mistake. UN was powerless in this issue. now this EULEX matters is becoming chaotic. at first their objective was to replace UNMIK thinking that they can use UNSCR 1244 for their deployment. now they finally realized that they could not do that because mr ban refused to succumb to western pressure. so what mr ban will say? 1244 will not cease and this is indirectly saying that UN doesnt recognize the UDI. up to now only 24 countries have recognized the UDI where the bulk is europeans. the momentum of recognition has slowed down dramatically and is going to a full stop very soon.

Foreign troops are in Kosovo by authority of UN resolution 1244, which guarantees Serbia's territorial integrity. Plain and simple!

I dare the Albanians to lift a finger against the Serbs! They have no choice but to be on their best behaivour and if they even think about causing trouble, they can say bye bye to their dream of an independent "Kosova" forever.

Partition exists so live with it! Your honeymoon with the US will end soon enough and reality will look you straight in the eye!
