I have lived in russia my whole life and i can say is Putin is a great president. The peoples standard of living has increased greatly. 90% of the people lives good. Putin saved Russian economy, it is one of the strongest in the world but under Yeltsin it was very weak.Lazar stop reading your pro America propaganda. If Putin was from Yeltsin team why would he have kicked out a large majority of Russian mafias out of the country?? Why is the country become dominant in oil and gas when under Yeltsin it was nothing? Why does 75% of the country approve him which is the highest approval rating in the world(bush is around 30%) Russia is helping Serbia for themselves and Serbia's benefit America cant do anything and with Russia's strong alliance with china its impossible for kosovo to become independent. Lazar before discussing the well being of Russians look at both sides of the story and not American propaganda.

"Where is this statue of Tarzan located? Might go and lay some flowers down on my way to Nis."

Serbia: Monument to Tarzan

The village of Medja, on the border with Romania, plans to build a monument to Johnny Weissmuller, the best-known film Tarzan. Mr. Weissmuller, who won five Olympic gold medals in swimming, was born in Medja in 1904. He died in 1984. Residents said they were inspired by a decision this week by another Serbian village, Zitiste, to erect a statue of Sylvester Stallone’s film boxer Rocky Balboa to rid itself of bad luck.

“I am awarding the right person, the president of the great, friendly Russia, from the citizens of the small town of Raška,“ Milovanović said.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

To Jay Hove - can't give an honour to persons who aren't worthly of it. That's why.

Nikola, Putin is not soley responsible for the Kosovo thing right now. Any Russian leader would have done the same. Putin cares about business, and helping his oligarch buddies, who robbed Russia in 1996. The russian leadership looks at the same way at Serbia... Yeltsin and Putin (same stuff really) do not care about us... they care about themselves, and so that's why they support the kosovo issue. The government of Serbia is not pro-Russian, and our government has clear goals to join the EU and NATO. Russia views this as anti-Russian. That is why the Russians are not supporting us on Kosovo for our sake, but for their own sake. And you forgot about China, for they are option two, if in case Russia backs off, thought they probably won't.

Putin deserves this honour.
Note that Croats name streets after their former Nazi Ustashe leaders, and Kosovo albanians have thugs like Ceku and Thaci running their government (and name streets after the proven liar Clinton). With the most popular and most effective Russian leader since Peter the Great, Serbs are in good company.

I suggest the Serbian parliamnet also do this. also add others to the list- Bobby Fischer, Maradona & Pele (both were critical of the bombing), former U.S. ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton.

The Bosnian Serbs recently honored Putin by naming a new bridge after him and other things. So this sounds like Serbia taking a cue from Bosnia a bit - kind of similar to the statue situation with Bosnia putting up one of Bruce Lee, then Serbia following with "Rocky" and "Tarzan" statues.

This is too bad, really. Putin is not worthy enough for this. The reason why is because he cares more about business than the wellbeing of Russians. He's from Yeltsin's team... and while they're pro-Serbian, it does not necessarily make them good, because every russian in their right mind is pro-Serbian.
