Russia is quickly getting power because of its' oil, you should ask yourself, "how long will it be before Russia runs out of oil?" or "How long will it take for the world not to depend on russian oil?" We both know, for Russia oil = power, and when that oil runs out it's back to the terrible mess it was before.
You might not want to go pro-east, Russians migrate ONLY to UK 200k to 300k a year and possibly more JUST in America every year. There is a reason why everyone is running out of that place.

Not a bad suggestion KS, for they already are in a financially superior position, and have the EU being dependent on them for energy. However, just to correct one thing, it won't be called the CCCP no more... but the Common Economic Space. This CES is a customs union, an alternative to the EU, which will be formed by 2011. This is better for us, for economic, cultural and other reasons. From them we can get subsidized energy, instead of bombs on our schools and hospitals. They are our allies and always have been. I hope that the pro-West regime, which has come to power thanks to western financial backing, has actually seen that Russia is truly our best option. They were not as strong in 1999, but now they are. They are the reason why we still have Kosovo & Metohija, and they are out best friend in the world.
Russia needs Serbia more than Serbia needs Russia. Yeah OK the Kosovo thing makes Serbia dependent on Russia and Russian support. However.. Russia is the future and it is on the rise and every superpower needs a sphere of influence like the USSR once had way back when. The problem with that is a lot of countries already souled out to the European Union. Serbia has not souled out yet... they can still turn to Russia and turn east if Russia does what needs to be done to help Serbia.

The only difference now is that Serbia is alienating itself from the rest of key EU member states by allowing to be treated as a Russian minority in Europe. The people around here are so terribly deluded that they actually believe that this Pro-Russian Pro-Chinese attitude is THE way forward. While it has taken many countries half a century to change that way of thinking, the Serbian politicians are driving in reverse gear.
