By the KLA - who seem to be holding the UN and Nato to ransom in this part of the world. For goodness sake UNMIK/ international community get a grip and regain some dignity.

My dear Serbian friends. It is a pity that you do not want to face reality. I guess you know the realities of politics and war. You lost the war, you lost Kosovo. What about a dignifing approache? What about facing realities? Do you actually believe that a hysteric emotional cry will have any effect? You know what will happen if you declare that "we will never recognize an independent Kosovo"? You know it well. You will get in the situation of Turkey, which does not recognize the Cypriot Republic. Noone cares about your position. You will have to swallow your own words once again after Croatia and Bosnia. Please, be real patriots and recognize that your country is going straight to chaos and that, if you will do nothing, you will soon be the poorest nation in Europe. You do not deserve it. Serbia does not deserve it. Please, be realistic! Once and forever, just be realistic! Do you think that Russia will defend your interests? Why should they? Did Tito's Yugoslavia defend Russia's history? Does Russia has interests in Kosovo or they are just bargaining with it? Come on, you are and educated nation that had the chance to travel and see the world much before other Eastern countries! You know reality. Please, my friends, wake up once. I'm sure that the 7 infirm elderly Serbs living under 24 hour protection in a village on the outskirts of Djakovica are daily making sorties against their more numerous Albanian neighbours. I bet the Albanian majority live in fear of what elderly Zoran and Radmila will do. After all they own a vicious spade.

Gustavo should read UN Resolution 1244 stating quite clearly that Serbia still owns Kosovo. If this piece of Serbia is given away despite these legally binding agreements, then every piece of UN legislation may as well be ripped up regarding land rights throughout the world. The UN/ US is not free to hand out chunks of land for their own short term ends whenever they decide.

But Catherine, for god's sake, everybody in this world knows very well that the resolution 1244 was and still is meant to be nothing more but a temporary valid document. Besides, nobody in this world had ever asked Albanians of Kosova, if they really wanted to find themselves occupied under successive Serbian regimes from the beginning of the 20th century, nobody… They were imposed that fate, and had to pay a deep price for the ambitions of the greater Serbia.
Serbs know the reality very well. It was their leaders that kept calling all the way through for Albanians to be expelled from this territory, not only during Milosevic regime, but beginning from the 18th century. Things, situations, rules and everything around this world isn't given, decided or structured once and forever, it is a process that keeps going on and on ...
Albanians of Kosova have their own right to exist as an independent nation. Serbia is to small and powerless a nation to keep this territory a colony. Those times are gone forever. Myths don't work in our age. Still, if there is anybody who still keeps calling on them, I'd prefer him/her, go back deeper into the history, You'll find plenty of the kind, this time myths from the times when there wasn’t a single Slavic population in the Balkans peninsula, … But I don’t think that it is worth and fair trying, …

My goodness Gustavo your comment by far is the MOST unrelistic thing I have ever read. Fist off Serbia will not and is not the poorest country in Europe by FAR I belive the place belongs to ALbania as a fact, Serbia has the largest Economy in the balkans why because people there work non of that is in anyway effected by Kosovo...... I in no way see Albanina and now Kosovo ever passing Serbia thats why I am in no way worried. keep dreaming that nato,us,eu are gona help you you just havent realized "that they dont care".

I think this new preambule in the serbian constitution shuold say something like "Kosovo used to be occupied by us from 1912 to 1999" That would make sense....this way, if someone says that your constition contains misinformation,,,,they would be right.

I have followed the entire session in UN Security Council, and I must say that what Sanda Rashkoviq said when she was given the floor, at the end SRSG Ryckher rebuffed her on every point she made, just like she was rebuffed by ex-SRSG Peterson, when he told her that: ' I have eyes and ears and I live in Kosova, and I know the truth'. If anybody followed that particular session she did not even shake hands with Peterson.
