So, some people believe quite firmly that Moscow is not a military threat, but an economic ally – and that it is President Sandu who is causing the crisis and war with her political rapprochement with the West.

They are certainly correct on that.
What benefit would they have joining the west? What is the west offering them except energy prices 10x more than they need to pay.
