You have raised excellent questions. The FA journal was once a serious publication but now its no better than the trashy newspapers. They claim that Russia has lost 100,000 men which is BS. The Israelis have said that Russia has so far lost 18,800 in comparison to Ukraine's 157,000. Although many have put Ukraine's losses at much higher. One analyst said that at the start of the war Ukraine had 700,000 including reserves. Today its somewhere around 250,000.

Why 1. the FP excludes the possibility that Russia is winning 2. Underestimating Russian forces and equipment (from where they know the Russians have no underwear, etc. same propaganda…) 3. Concluded the Russians want to negotiate something 4. Not showing the huge lose of Ukraine in terms of deaths, they were losing that amount showed there, not the Russians.
FP tells us the Ukraine is waiting till summer to do something, what are doing the Russians meanwhile? Waiting?
Then they start attacking The Peninsula and its bridge on taliban style? By hit and run?
With 100 tanks vs. 2000-10000 tanks?
With a small decimated army?
