Vucic: I expect that Serbia will become a member of the European Union by 2026

I doubt that Serbia will become part of the EU even by 2035 let lone 2026. I recall back in 2010 it was 2015 then 2020 etc. Now we have a financial crises not seen since the 1930s and EU member budgets are being slashed so dont expect Brussels to take on any new members.
Reminds me of an old joke from the Soviet Union days that goes like "we pretend to work and they pretend to pay us" or in plain English just going through the motions.

Just the opposite. Pray to God Serbia do not.
But to come out takes millions of euros and years.
Do as you do now. And look for other players.

For the same obvious reasons Serbia didn't join NATO in 1999, as their "humanitarian" bombs rained down over Belgrade , baptising the country into Western style "democracy", Serbia won't join its arch tormenter or it's political branch ever. It goes against every fiber and DNA of the Serbian body.

Mr. Vucic, do you expect to get the referendum passed in the first place?
Maybe you won't be holding that referendum because you know that majority of Serbs don't want EU. Are you just going to make such a decision on your own?
Good thing is that it won't happen before you have to go to new elections.
Maybe the next election will be the referendum.
