The article is on Djokovic so I focused on him. Of course anyone associated with the tournament, has to shoulder responsibility. As for natural immunity, not really the point, they all could have infected others who may not be as resilient as top athletes, that's the thing here, not that they themselves are infected.

Silly beyond words and totally self inflected. One the best tennis players of all time, if not the very best, but complete lack of judgment in organising that pointless 'competition'.

I agree. It was an extremely poor lack of judgement here but we can't just blame him alone.
The tennis players who took part are also to blame. They are adults and capable of making their own decisions. Nobody twisted their arm so when does personal responsibility kick in?
The venues should not have been made available for this either.
So many people could've prevented it from going ahead but nobody did.

Yes, he was very silly to do it but he didn't do it alone and I don't see any condemnation towards anyone else in any media. As always, there has to be a scapegoat.
At least they will all now have natural immunity to the virus.

"We organized the tournament at a time when the virus had weakened, believing that the conditions for its maintenance had been met."
When you see footage of players embracing and a packed crowd with no space between each other, ie a total disregard for social distancing, no masks anywhere and no gloves, how can it be beleived by anyone that "...conditions for its maintenance had been met."?
I am astonished that permission was granted for this tournement to proceed!
It seems there really is a double standard at work here; tell everyone to abide by rules and observe the required measures, and then go ahead and stage an event like this that clearly does neither.

Djokovic acted out of ignorance, not understanding what harm it would cause to people in Serbia. With the covid-19 virus starting to abate, it was not yet time to relax the ban on large gatherings such as a tennis match. Furthermore, social distancing was not possible and hardly anyone wore a mask. As much as Novak had good intentions by raising money for charity, all that effort was for nothing and in fact only set the country back further.
