This is silly. There’s no way out . We will all have to risk it, with those vulnerable taking extra precautions. Herd immunity is the only way. You can’t keep lockdown indefinitely.

We still do not know much about the virus. The only way I can imagine a play with the herd immunity if there is universal and precise testing world-wide.

I agree that the lock-down is making people very frustrated, destroys a lot - but at least saves lives. The main reason of the lock-down not to overwhelm the medical infrastructure.

The three best examples are Spain, Italy, France. These countries have the most efficient healthcare system in the EU - with one catch: that system assumes that only certain number of residents can be ill and there is a large peer pressure abut usual habits (soda vs. other drinks, diet, prevention, compare Italian or French food with typical American, etc.)

All that works excellently - but once that number of ill is much larger, the entire system will collapse.

I did read that the scientists work on the vaccine and the virus research day and night, military airplanes fly all over the world with virus samples for the resarch. Unfortunately the research is also slowed down because good number of scientists and programmers are ill.
