EU "launches" a new plan for Serbia: Forget membership?

"Economic integration without formal membership" means handing over your economy without having any say about it so the plunder can continue. That is what is behind this. China does not make any requirements like this. It just achieves influence by providing loans which are then used to implement infrastructural projects by Chinese companies. Winwin on multiple levels for the Chinese.
The EU makes a big mistake. I already heard officials in the region talk that they will make phone calls to Beijing, Moscow, Ankara and other places. Didn't Europe learn from history? If you leave the Balkans to itself rather sooner than later powers come to play there. Xi, Putin, Erdogan and others are already wringing their hands.

If that is what's on the EU agenda it's fine by me.
EU in return should not chair any talks between siptari in our province kosovo* and Rep Serbia.
In any case its wrong now as it is.

Never trust the EU... We've known about this plan for the last three weeks after it was leaked to an intergovernmental committee. Its pretty explosive stuff and the EU will put up their usual smokescreen of vague comments and denials, but where there's smoke there's fire.

Serbia, Macedonia and Albania could join a customs union with the UK after Brexit. Knock the EU off their perch.

Like a MAGICIAN in this case rep Serbia should have a plan "B" and tell EU a whole truth they no longer are the negotiators there are others due to changes EU made Ev

EU = Extraordinary Union.
Eastern European nations should form a soviet style union and stay away from the west. The west is corrupt capitalism feeding and stealing from the poor with their legal laws. West is a dog eat dog society.

The EU is just playing with Serbia, knowing full well the only viable choice for Serbia is the EU. Unfortunately, Vucic and company are too naive to realize it. The fact that Hong Kong wants nothing to do with China should be a clear signal for Serbia to run the other way. Also, forget Putin, since Russia is cash poor with the price of oil sinking for the foreseeable future.

If I were a Greek, Italian, Spaniard, Romanian or Bulgarian I would be concerned because you also will be considered undesirable in the same way Serbs, Montenegrins and Albanians are. due to the economics of the EU. In other words changes are coming for you also
With Brexit there will be less money to subsidize non producers. This is a precursor to the EU going down

To some extent I agree with you. Any monies received from EU reased to all candidate countries is a money from the hard working tax payers from Austria, Germany, France, UK.
But Ralph this is how business is run. And candidate countries do produce pay back in some way in return.

Serbia has no chance in joining the EU without dealing with its criminal past first.

It's so funny and true that this all the lesser countries care about. What will the EU give us? What can we get? They have no interest in joining the EU to be part of something. The powers that be just see it as a welfare program. (That the leaders usually figure out how to milk for their own personal gains.)

There's even money in the process now while in discussion with the EU. And if the EU didn't pay money for these countries to have dialogue with them, there would be no talks.

A collective bunch of beggars. This is why the stonger countries (at least the general population of those countries) of the EU want out. It's a giant wealth transfer in the name of integration.
