Why would Serbia back down now? What incentive is there for Belgrade? EU membership on the line unless agreement is reached LOL? At this rate even if Serbia were to reach agreement by the end of the year and even recognise Kosovo, the EU would not be in any financial position to accept new members before 2035 at the earliest. But if we have another economic meltdown, as experts are predicting, that 2035 will be stretched out to 2050.
The EU is pointing an empty rifle and both Brussels and Belgrade know its empty.
So, if the EU wants it settled it has to capitulate and sell out the Albos. Let’s face it Kosovo cannot survive on its own. Its financially unsustainable. Brussels will have no other option but to fold.
