Serbia, and more so Montenegro, have the same problem of dealing with criminal elements within their ruling elites. In Montenegro, the dictatorship use public sector employees combined with votes from Bosniaks and Albanians to stay in power. They threaten the ethnic minorities that Serbs will somehow cause them harm if Montenegro returns to its Serbian roots. Nothing can be further from the truth.

Speaking as someone born in Montenegro, I can assure you that the overwhelming majority of people there feel Serbian. The fact that 35% of people there publicly admit so in spite of the harm this causes to themselves and their families, should tell you all you need to know.

Serbia and Montenegro belong together. In time, it's only natural that they will reunify.

Croatia has BIG problems with Montenegro, but we in Serbia think it's for them or the courts to sort out not Serbia. We read, we hear.
As for Montenegro they are "nice" to Muslims from Kosovo only to annoy us Serbs, Serbia.

There is a very simple explenation to why our neighbors blame Serbia for all their problems. They dont know how to handle their problems after becoming independent. You can still build a strong and prosperous society even if one of your neighbors didnt recognize you. Same with Montenegro. Dukanovic is a dictator. Needs to have an enemy so he could continue to stay in power. He knows his people are all for better ties with Serbia so he feels the need to change those views. And Bosnia where RS is blooming while the federation is split between croats and muslims and where corruption has gone through the Rolf. Serbia is minding its own business and doing very well. Montenegrins's roots are from the Illyrian Diocleti tribe. Serbs butchered that name and called it Duklja. Montenegro's heart has historically been in Shkodra, at the heart of the Albanian Alps. Serbian spy Njegosh moved it to Cetinje and he started to baptize Orthodox Albanians in the Slavic church and gave them Slavic names.

Montenegro's national identity has always shifted between Serb and Albanian and now they're somewhere in between and a separate nation from both. Serbia needs to respect Montenegrin identity.

Montenegrins's roots are from the Illyrian Diocleti tribe. Serbs butchered that name and called it Duklja. Montenegro's heart has historically been in Shkodra, at the heart of the Albanian Alps. Serbian spy Njegosh moved it to Cetinje and he started to baptize Orthodox Albanians in the Slavic church and gave them Slavic names.

Montenegro's national identity has always shifted between Serb and Albanian and now they're somewhere in between and a separate nation from both. Serbia needs to respect Montenegrin identity.
