Serbia shouldn't insist on Republika Srpska's independence

The old Yugoslavia produced some very stupid people and Ejup Ganic is just one of them. There are about 150,000 Bosniaks in Serbia and if they desired to break away they would somehow have to jump over RS to co-join with the Bosniak federation.
No wonder the west supported him since the dumber they are the better.

No, it’s not happening. Creating a “land bridge” is a silly notion. The population of Sandzak is too small and if you think Ganic or anyone in the Bosniak side has the power to create this land bridge then you are dreaming.
Why not just say they are going to drill a tunnel from Novi Pazar to the Federation part of BiH via Rome, Paris and Brussels.
As far as Preshavo goes its not going anywhere. I keep on saying that all this talk is a ruse to show something is going on and moving forward but in fact the very suggestion will not be accepted by the west.

Yes, they held most of the land there but Bosniaks populated the cities and if you wanted separation then you have to give something up. RS has very few non-Serbs. During the height of the war Serbs held 80% of Bosnia until the Dayton agreement was signed.
The west installed Dodik thinking he was their man – very dumb people in the west. However, if he has been milking it then he is a small time operator when compared to the Bosniak side. They have received more money from the EU than RS and have stolen millions of Euros over the years.
Once Kosovo is done then RS is next and no one will lift a finger when it breaks away.

You must have never been to RS or lived any where near it lol half of it is cleansed land where serbs never lived. Also get your facts right before Daytona was signed is where the lines where held .. so how did you have 80% of Bosnia. This is why there is all this talk about ‘redrawing borders’ and the very strategic importance of Srebranica.

it would seems the idea is to redraw Kosovo & presovo and to allow Sanjak to separate from serbia so it could join Bosnia via a slightly modified land bridge extending through Srebrenica to sanjak. The remaining Rep srpska will most likely be split, with the northern & eastern part joining Serbia and the area west of Srebrenica joining Montenegro.

This is the sacrifice Serbs are being asked to make, to establish a 95+% ethnically homogeneous Serbian state (like Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Czechia and Poland are) before joining the EU? This deal is supported by the west because it guaranties Montenegrin independence from Belgrade (as there will be no common border between Montenegro and Serbia) and will reinforce the 120 year old West European policy of denying Serbia any possibility of future access to the Adriatic sea.

i'm curious what readers like 'srbin' think about this, before ridiculing Ganic's statement?
